These are just brilliant trousers, all the right pockets in the right places, light, and good fitting, if you are a 32, try the XS 30", worked for me. just wish they did grey like the shorts.
Very good product
Excellent trousers this is my
Second pair
Excellent service from start to finish
These trousers Keep you warm, and are a really comfortable fit.
Great fit great service!
The trousers are fine, the belt simply doesn’t keep tight.
Comfortable to wear but annoying belt you have to keep threading pockets are pretty open and not deep enough. The most annoying are the fluffy balls created after a wash. Would I buy them again no
For hiking walking etc. they fit really with this stretch type material. They tend to dry out quickly as well. Only down side is the inbuilt belt if your not careful can pull through on one side.
I`ve used these Trousers for a number of long walks now and I have to say they have become my favourite. Yesterday I Walked The Pen Y Fan circular, the ridge was bitterly cold but I was perfectly cosy. If only they made facemasks out of this material lol. First class
These are my 2nd pair of the pants. The first pair, that Ive had for over a year haven't worn out, just that they are so good I had to get a 2nd pair.
I currently walk over 7miles a day during the week and a few more at weekends and these a by far the most comfortable pants I own. I've worn them in pretty much all weathers, although in summer they can get a bit warm. Although, the leg pockets do have net mesh as the liner so provides some ventilation.
The waist fastens with 2 vertically aligned press studs and the zip is multi-directional. In other words, there are 2 zip pulls - so you can open up from the top of bottom.
There are 2 zipped pockets at the top and 1 zipped pocket round the back, along with 2 slipped leg pockets.
The bottom of the legs are 1/4 zipped which allows for easy removal if wet or muddy and easier access to laces.
Some users have reported issues with bobbling, but I've not experienced this.
The only issue I have is that The zip pulls are small and can be fiddly when wearing gloves. However, this is easily remedied with a bit of paracord.
In summary, these are great pants and would recommend them to anyone who's into any kind of outdoor activity.
Extremely comfortable but can't survive the washing machine. After washing for the first time it became noticeable the the fabric started to bobble, now after a couple of washes these trousers look old and tacky. If your like me, don't have much money but want to buy the best stuff avoid this product, there will be a better product in the same price range. Such a disappointment so nice to wear :( .
After much use of my ME Frontier Jacket, which has been my default top half outer layer since I purchased it two years ago, I was interested by the Ibex pants, which use the same material. Nice, slim fit and plenty of pockets, they seemed ideal. Sadly, my experience of them after a couple of months is a let down. The thigh pockets' vertical zips just love to let anything in them (your 'phone, for example) tumble out as they are opened, and the waist band - non elasticated and with a poor webbing belt (replaced by a better one to no avail) moves around too much when walking, resulting in damaging abrasion to base layer tops. Several have been badly scuffed in a short while and as a result I've stopped using the Ibex pants for serious walking. This is an issue I've not experienced before and simply has to down to the waistband of these trousers. The Ibex are now consigned to casual use with tops which are on their way out anyway, as I can't afford to replace expensive technical tops every two weeks.
I like ME stuff generally and have a Frontier jacket that is my default top-half outerwear. I tried a pair of the Ibex on recently and liked the fit and the nice material so bought them. Sadly, the features don't really work for me. The waistband would be better if it were elasticated and would take an elasticated belt. The supplied belt is useless. Even with a better belt installed the waistband shifts around when walking and has been wearing holes in my base layer tops at an alarming rate.
The thigh pockets ought to be 'drop-in' format rather than vertically-zipped as it's difficult to avoid dropping whatever you're trying to get out of them, your 'phone, for example.
I've stopped using the Ibex for technical use as I can't afford to keep replacing expensive technical tops every couple of weeks and they have been relegated to casual use, so not a total loss, but I daren't wear delicate Power Dry tops with them. I haven't experienced this issue before with ANY outdoor trouser so it's down to the Ibex, I'm afraid.
The material, fit, cut, pockets etc. are all great and on the whole these are perfect for many outdoor activities. My only quibble are the zips - way too small and fiddly to use, impossible with gloves on. ME are a top quality brand so they really should have added some cord or something to make the zips far easier to access and use. Anyway, I'll do that myself and all will be well.
Bought these trousers after being so impressed by the frontier jacket using the same material. The fit is great. Good pocket set up with all pockets zipped too. I agree with the previous review about the double press stud fastening. I would prefer a button too but I wouldn't mark down on this. I haven't had any issues with the belt as one reviewer has mentioned. The material of these trousers is really great. Recently wore these trousers on a trip to the lakes in November and it confirmed to me why I bought them. It was cold and windy with some showers. My legs remained dry and were not subjected to wind chill. My legs would have frozen in normal walking trousers, yet would have sweated with thermal leggings with the exertion. I really don't like overheating, and these trousers (and the frontier jacket) provide just the right protection for me.
So good I now have three pairs! Comfortable, practical and quick drying.
Good for most seasons and weathers having side vents for heat and able to layer up in cold or wet.
Prices I have paid put £60 to target price point - other outlets will price match if you ask them
Fantastic trousers. They feel great, comfortable, plenty of stretch. But, personally, I hate the double press stud fastening, I'd prefer a button. And, and this is the real downside for me, the belt. For trousers carrying this name, I'd really like it if the belt stayed 'locked'. The belt on mine is forever coming loose. To the extent, I've purchased a Craghoppers belt to replace it.
Purchased for a week of winter walking in Scotland. Trousers were very comfortable, good fit and seemed quick drying with useful pocket & zips. Also look tidy. Only issue was the seat of the pants; became ‘bobbled’ and worn after only 5 days of normal wear, occasionally sitting on rough ground as you do. This seemed unreasonable for the brand and price. It may have been a flaw with the material but manufacturer was contacted and item was returned for a full refund. Good service.
I have had the Ibex trousers for years and they are a great fit with no excess material. The hip and back pockets are zipped and secure there are 2zipped and vented opening on the thighs. They wash well
