Great bit of kit
I've used it on 3 camping trips, use to get bugs congregating at the top of the tent in the living area. No more. Only bug bare was the occasional dead/dying bug lands on you. Left it on all night by accident and had to sweep up the bugs in the morning. Down side is only one insert, went to shop for replacements but they did not stock them, so have order some more online. Unlike a previous review, I found the fan very quiet. Highly recommended.

Noisy
Seems to do the job but the motor emitted an annoying buzz which was amplified when put on a hard surface. This spoilt the ambience of our outdoor adventure so in the end we turned it off and used bug spray instead.

Ineffective
Bought one of these to ward off mosquitos in our room when in Cuba. It had no effect what so ever!

Excellent for keeping room/tent mosquito free.
Used this in upcountry Afghanistan and lake area of Nicaragua. No bites.

Seen the reviews of this and thought id give it a try got home and opened the packaging to find out theres no cartridge inside so check before purchasing, i cant go back to store as its nearly 50 miles each way

I have been using these for years to protect me from malaria-carrying mosquitoes when on regular trips to Uganda. Switch on in my room an hour before dusk, no insects buzzing around, no bites. The cartridges only work for 6 nights, so take spares with you for a longer trip. Also make sure you take spare batteries. But well worth having the spares with you for trouble-free nights.
