using as a light carp rod as do not need a heavy test curve rod . This works fine, can cast large distance if required with just a 1 ounce lead. mostly use it for close in margin fishing and even used it with a method feeder as the tip is quite responsive. Have caught many mirror and common carp to just over 12lb and had great fun .may not have a designer label or ultra slim blank but at £12.99 is brilliant value.

Purchased 3 of these for fishing for carp on commercials where fish average 6/8lb with a few 14/20 lb mark! 1st time out had 17 carp and 1 bream! the rods are a pleasure to cast with and had no problem casting method feeders to opposite bank with the line clip on! also a pleasure to play fish on with a smooth action and forgiving action,preventing line pulls! good working cheap rod! only downside broom handle size like old school carp rods! so no good for money wasting,must look good even if i can't catch! tackle tarts!

Used for the first time and landed two lovely barbel to 7lb. Nice progressive smooth action but could do with the reel grip being moved a little down the handle for a slightly comfier action when playing fish.
For this price this is an absolute bargain and I'm tempted to get another!
Matched it with a Shimano Hyperloop RB 4000 rear drag reel and Maxima 8lb line for a fantastic barbel fishing setup.

Brought one of these 12 month a go have land carp to mid twenties plus plenty more in low doubles also barbel to over 9lb well recommend this rod

Excellent for price, played and landed carp up to 15lb on this no problem.

Caught lots of Barbel on the River Severn Bridgenorth in july and aug using this Rod i only fish with 1 Rod . Point is that i seen other fishermen with 2 rods and not cheap rods either they had all the high tech gear and they blanked. I was there using my £9.99 Rod and caught 5 Barbel in 1 session. Nice Rod you can really give them some stick to get them out the snags using this Rod i defo recommend if your on a budget. 10/10

Got my self one of these it handled carp up to 12lb no problem now off to get another, very good value and a quality product.

Bought two of these Barbel rods one for myself and one for the wife. Very light weight with a soft forgiving action. My Rod is combined with the hardwear freerunner deluxe 60 Reel & prologic xlnt camo line, 16lb My wife's Rod combined with the okuma carbonite cbf 155 & prologic xlnt camo line, 15lb . Either Reel works well & gives Excellent Smooth Casting. The rods can handle Mirror Carp well as I caught a 9lb6oz & my wife caught a 6lb10oz Yet to get a Barbel on the rods yet but Handles Big fish well Great Rods & Value for Money.

purchased this rod for my 9 year old daughter, its a great rod for carp and tench and she has caught well over 100 carp on this rod up to around 15lb, it casts well and has a forgiving through action the only fault as a few have said is the handle is a bit to long, a great rod for the price, I purchased another so she has a matching pair.

My son took this out today mistaking this for an 11ft feeder rod. He used my rod and I used his We had a great time. It casts brilliantly and for its price puts rods ten times more expensive to shame.
We had a dozen large carp and bream in quick succession and the rod easily coped with no trouble at all. It has a sweet action and bends nicely to absorb the knocks and runs.
A super rod. I'm going to get another one for myself.

First time out on a local club lake. Bream to 6lb, small carp and roach. All handled with ease. Casts well, soft and forgiving action. Nice build quality. In short an absolute bargin at £9.99.

I have fished the Severn for 50yrs and this is ideally suited for it. Great price too!

Good rod at exceptionally low price, only fault, as reported in another review, is that the handle is too long and catches in your armpit in use.

Bought these as my eldest wanted to get into fishing and I didn't fancy lugging my heavier rods and reels to the local carp puddle.

First time out I thought they were great, even with a 5/8 oz lead they cast 40 yards or so. Playing fish was easy.

The only fault I could see was a bit of a blob of duplon on the hamdle.
