Great but basic..
I bought this jacket because I needed one for the 3 peaks challenge and it was great, although the weather was very kind to us!
I am 5ft 11" and 12 stone and a large fitted me great, slightly loose and a bit more length than the medium size.
Great fit and quality feel to the jacket.
Looks great (mine is grey and slate colour)
It's got a storm flap, if only secured by velcro patches
It's very breathable, especially with it being a 'large size' for me.
Great value for money- I think I paid like £109 or something!
NOT SO GOOD POINTS:
It's a fairly basic jacket as far as features..
Single front zip, (a double would be handy.)
Hood isn't wired and doesn't move with the head all that well, at least without headgear.
Single elasticated Hem toggle, I prefer one each side, and no waist elastic so no
adjustment available there.
The outer pockets are lower down, not chest pockets so less accessible when wearing a rucksack.
You can't zip any jacket into the inside- I think Berghaus must use a thinner gauge zip.
So why 5 stars? Because for a simple, great basic and highly waterproof/breathable hiking jacket, it's fantastic, and that's what it's designed for. I wore it today in a 50mph hail storm and although the hood didn't offer 5 star protection (I had to pull the top of the jacket tight against my face to stop ice getting in), for less severe conditions in warmer areas, it does it's job very well. I haven't found a jacket that's compatible with it to zip in but I'd prefer them to be worn separately any way.
Overall it's great as a smart, simple waterproof, just understand it's limitations.
