Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.
Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.
Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.
Very comfortable and light weight, but poor build quality. The soles are easily overwhelmed by the typical muddy conditions in the UK making them quite slippy. The uppers tend to retain moisture and take an age to dry out. The waterproof membrane hasn't split yet, but once it does these will be useless in wet conditions. I do maintain my boots, cleaning them, applying a good wax to the leather and waterproofing the fabric, so I would expect them to perform properly. These boots might be okay in summer conditions, but after a year the toe bumper is becoming to separate from the boot as are the sides of the rand from the sole. Most of my walking is in fairly light conditions with the occasional weekend hike. It's now April and I doubt they will last until the end of summer. In comparison I've had Salomon and Hi-Tec boots (at half the price) that have lasted much longer in the same conditions.
These are really comfortable boots and my second pair, but not up to the quality of the first. They fell apart within one years use, I suspect a manufacturing fault - poor membrane lamination!
Take a size 9 and true to size. Wide in the toe box. Comfy. Initially waterproof but failed in 12 months. Parts of (over complex) rubber sole and shoe coming away. Poor durability common in reviews.
Wonderfully comfortable with wide toe box but alas not waterproof for British heavy rainy day rambling as I discovered yesterday.
Comfy boots due to wide fitting but they are not waterproof as advertised only have to walk through damp grass and feet get wet really annoying
Bought these about 30 months ago.
Supremely comfortable from first wear. Sadly the rand around the front of both boots has pulled away from the boot base letting water in. Poorly constructed.
Very comfortable, sturdy looking boot.Thats where it ends. These boots didn't last long, they were not waterproof and began disintergrating as I wore them.Took them back for a refund.
I bought these boots in November 2022, they have basically disintegrated. The sides above the sole is completely shredded and they are no longer waterproof.I will be taking them back for a refund. ;-(
Had these boots just over a year with infrequent/very light use. One boot now leaks, one boot is dry. Comfort is good but now useless in wet weather. Go Outdoors helpful, Keen uninterested. Don’t buy.
Very very poor boot feet not dry left boot split will not buying them again ☹️☹️☹️☹️
First pair lasted 6 months then sole came loose from upper. Replacement pair are now 6 weeks old and the sole is starting to detach - very poor quality
Wide fit. Well made.
I've had 2 pairs of these. First pair let in water immediately, then split at the joint with the sole. Second pair let in water after 4 months, and have also started to fall apart.
Extremely light and comfortable
Currently rehabilitating from foot surgery and they have been great shoes
These are my fourth pair of this make/style of Keen boots. I bought the first pair in 2014 prior to attempting to walk the 500 miles of Camino de Santiago in Spain.
Prior to going to Spain we did several hundred miles of training walking in this country. My initial reaction when I first tried them on in the shop was how comfortable they were straight from the box with the original insoles. I used the boots with these insoles for several training walks but as I have strange feet I fitted my custom made insoles for the actual Camino walk. Having completed that Camino, and its preliminary training, plus lots of other incidental walking before and afterwards I estimate that I walked well over a thousand miles before finally deciding that I had worn out the boots. This was mainly on the heels due to my particular gait. Even so the boots were still waterproof.
On that first Camino the boots performed brilliantly, and, hand on heart, I didn't suffer a single blister. Nor have I ever since, using two other pairs of the same boots on two more 500+ miles Caminos and several other long distance (200+miles) walks. The boots I am just replacing have done me for a 250+Miles walk in England plus 1000 miles of "Covid lockdown" walking over the last 2 years.
Overall, I, and my wife who wears the ladies equivalent Keens, have been totally satisfied with our Keen boots. Our one comment is that the outer soles are softer than other makes and hence wear a little quicker, BUT the comfort, and lack of blisters, that the Keen soles give, far outweighs this relatively small problem. I have, in the past, had other boots with harder and more durable soles, but have always had blisters when wearing them. I know which make I prefer, I've just bought my fourth pair of them.
Beautifully comfortable and light but they split on both feet within 6 months and were unusable after 8. Second pair I have owned and the first ones lasted 18 months. I will never buy these again.
This is my fourth pair of Keen Targhee boots and all have failed within six months. They're supremely comfortable but there is clearly a manufacturing problem that Keen are unwilling to address.
Comfortable, light,
Very comfortable boot. Very happy with them, but they started leaking after 3 months, about 300 miles. Excellent service from GO Outdoors. Refunded the cost, as they didn't have my size in stock.
I have owned several pairs of Keens in the past. Typically they last years and hundreds of miles. This pair lasted one year before they completely disintegrated. That’s not okay for £126.
