Great crab. it is a little fiddly to clip onto but feels so much more secure than your average screwgate. highly recommend picking this up.

I am a relatively new to climbing and was drawn to this carabiner because of the way it sits on the belay loop it is a bit More of a faf to get it on compared to a traditional carabiner boy to does sit really nice once on and I don't regret my choice
Black Diamond Gridlock Screwgate Carabiner
I purchased this carabiner for use in the local gyms as I loved the idea of it not being able to load on the minor axis. I thought this would be ideal with lots of less experienced climbers as it's one less thing to worry about.
It's a little fiddly as you have to open the gate twice in order to get it onto the belay loop but a small price to pay for the security. I'd have rather purchased the Grivel Clepsydra but Go Outdoors don't seem to stock it and it was a "there and then" purchase.
Here's the bad bit..
I used this carabiner once, just once.
I used it to belay 3 relatively light climbers, total of 6 climbs. Only two minor falls.
The ropes already eaten into the carabiner to the point it looks years old! I've immediately retired this carabiner and I'd seriously recommend looking for another one. I'll be going for a Grivel Clepsydra as all my Grivel carabiners have stood up well.
Nice carabiner but...
This is a nice carabiner and the shaped gate does keep the carabiner in the correct place on the belay loop, but this also makes it fiddly to remove when passing the carabiner and belay device to your partner. Other than that it does what it should do.
Well it does work, but it's far too fiddly compared with other gated belay biners. The tying of the primary gate to the secondary makes it near impossible to use one handed. Get something a bit nicer
