After at least twenty years; have replaced my Whisperlite stove with a new Whisperlite International stove.
Light, simple, efficient. On this one I shall use a small block of Hexamine for pre-heating - rather than the 'ball of flame'....
Reason for replacement? Could not obtain a few inches of 3 mm bore petrol proof hose for stove to fuel bottle.

Light, simple, utterly reliable
Last one lasted 19 years and is still going strong. My mate (a life long gas user and currently an MSR pocket rocket owner) is an utter convert after one week away with me using it.
Its light. It's simple. It's fast. Its stable, its easy to get fuel, you can top up the bottle unlike gas. Its rugged and reliable. I wouldn't buy anything else.
New model looks good too. pan grips and lighter than ever.
Buy one. you won't regret it

Purchased this for an off-road motorbike trip across the Pyrenees. Naturally I used unleaded petrol in it and it worked flawlessly (although I did prime it with meths to keep it clean), reckon you could burn most flammable liquids in it. Boils extremely quickly whilst also allowing for temperature adjustment on the valve for simmering. If I had to criticise I would say it's a little spiky when packed down and soon makes holes in it's carry bag so be careful if packed next to waterproofs etc. Great for what I wanted on that trip tho.
