Great for night vision
Love this little head torch. Light and small, not for distance viewing, but perfect for when you need to keep your night vision as the torch will light straight to red and, provided you keep it on for a short time, when you turn it off it goes straight off. Thus you don't have to cycle through white light, unlike most head torches
Great little campsite torch
Perfect entry level torch. Great for those tasks around the campsite. Beam quite sufficient. Red light useful setting. Liked it so much the children now have one each.
Brilliant
Purchased this not expecting much, but was very happy with performance, it's not a long distance head torch, but good upto 50yards, and brilliant for close range tasks etc.
Fault
Had the torch replace after it started turning itself off after only short use, batteries changed thought it must have been batteries. Started switching off again after lite use. Batteries changed again, ok for a short while, again started playing up. Took it to GO, problem was imeadiately obvious, contacted Colman UK, told to take it to store. Finally got GO to swop it, new one has just started to turn itself off and its had less than an hours use. Batteries are original and durocell that came with the torch. The 2 AAA cells. Tested at 1.2v. Gonna stick to my Petzl, cannot remember the last time i change those batteries.
A Good Cheap Headlamp
Used this a few times now and can honestly say I'm impressed. If you want a long distance headlamp then this isn't the one you need. But for general tasks around the campsite/inside tent it's perfect.
I liked the red lamp illumination a this did not destroy my night vision and also was better for not waking/disturbing other campsite users. The two settings on white light aren't that much different but are more than adequate for cooking and other tasks. Batteries are lasting well too. Would be really good for DoE expeds.
Coleman Headtorch
Store member helped point this one out as new in and great quality. I used it for Dj-ing actually and it was bang on. Great red light feature also.
