Great boots!!!!, 21 January 2017
By Nick (Newcastle)
Dont normaly leave reviews, however i feel the reviews on this site are a tad harsh. Had three 2 day trips to the lakes, summitting numerous fells (crinkle crags, bow fell etc etc) with these boots, it rained all day on all trips so rocks as slippy as they could be and i found the boots great, no grip issues. Good solid comfy boot and my feet where the only dry part of my body come the end of the day..... could do with a rubber toe cappy thing at the front as scratched a bit when scrambling but they polished out when i got home.

Very comfortable but poor quality sole, with each heel disintegrating on the side (not the bottom) in just under 2 years. Quality not in line with price.
Berghaus Hillmaster II GTX Men's Walking Boots, 09 December 2016

Great boots for walking, worst boots ever if you come across wet rock.
Today I nearly fell into the river Wye because these boots are so useless on wet rock, I was retrieving my dog who had got into trouble and because of my own subsequent difficulties he nearly drowned!!.
I am a regular walker (and a dance teacher) not a clumsy walker. Wearing these boots on wet rocks is like leather soled shoes on sheet ice.
If your walking is grass, mud or track fine, Please do not waste your money (and risk your life) if you are going to encounter wet rocks on your walks.
unacceptable sole wear, 04 March 2016
By kenny (suffolk)
bought these a few months ago and already the vibram sole is showing signs of serious wear to the point where i have stopped wearing them before doing west highland way walk. the sole is extremely soft and not durable, wont be buying these again. Shame as when this boot was made by brasher it was great. :-(
Superb update on a classic, 21 February 2016
By Shropjohn (Shropshire)
I bought my first Brasher boots in 2000, they were brilliant and lasted a good 10 years. Had a bad experience with their Supalites, soles came unstuck, leather scuffed almost immediately. This boot is superb. The Pitthards leather is the best and the vibram sole good and firm like the original. Comy to wear from day 1, I am very pleased with these boots.
