A modern staple, the Rab Microlight Alpine Jacket uses hydrophobic down insulation inside weather-resistant Pertex Quantum fabric, in a streamlined package that gives you very effective warmth with minimal weight.
The jacket is easily packable, with two roomy, zipped pockets make it a practical option for any adventure.
The narrow stitch-through baffled construction prevents the down fill from spreading or bunching and gives maximum loft, and the fixed insulated hood gives you supreme protection from winter weather.
Clean lines and a slim silhouette mean that the Microlight Alpine works very well as a warm layer under a waterproof shell, for climbing or other alpine pursuits - but you'll also appreciate it if you're lightweight backpacking, or just wearing it day-to-day in cold conditions.

CHEST: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, making sure to keep the tape under the arms and around your shoulder blades.
WAIST: Measure around the smallest part of your waist (natural waistline).
HIPS: Stand with your heels together and measure around the fullest part.
INSIDE LEG: Measure from the top of your inner leg, along the inside seam to the bottom of your leg.

Fantastic quality stylish down jacket. I was amazed at how light and how compact it can be compressed into a small bag for convenience on a walk. I have had many compliments from this jacket. Perfect for Autumn and Spring as a top layer, it may not be warm enough for Winter unless warm layers are worn underneath. The only downside to this jacket is that it isn't waterproof and only suitable for a mild shower burning knew this when buying a down jacket.

Nice coat, but not weather-resistant
Fits the description in terms of being warm and lightweight, but I'm really disappointed in the lack of "weather-resistance": even a short (30 minute) walk in the rain leaves me soaked to the skin.
Finally took the plunge and splurged on a Rab insulated jacket after years of cheaper versions.
Good fit - slightly larger to accommodate base layers. Extremely warm - stuff sack is a fab extra!
