The Petzl NOMIC has been designed to let you adapt your rock climbing repertoire to hard ice climbing.

Its adjustable ergonomic handle feels great in your hands, allowing for multiple grip modes and reducing the risk of snagging when you're switching between hands. The handle's length can be adjusted, to exactly fit the size of your hand and glove.

The ICE pick easily penetrates any type of ice, and pulls out easily. The modular head has two removable pick weights to balance the axe and propel it into the ice with an exceptional swing. For placing pitons, the Nomic can also be equipped with a hammer.

A stainless steel serated edge on the base of the grip allows you to get a bit more purchase if you're using it as a piolet. the specific shape of the shaft and the handle limit the risk of pick shift when switching hands.

When equipped with MASSELOTTES pick weights, the NOMIC gives you precise, efficient purchase in ice - without the MASSELOTTES pick weights, the NOMIC becomes considerably lighter and  more useful for dry tooling.

Griptape on the upper handle makes for better grip and provides a bit of thermal insulation when you need it.
