The Scarpa Spark is part of their new Trail Range and has already been collecting awards and recognition online and from magazines in the US, where it has been available for a while already.

The lightweight EVA sole has a 6mm drop from heel to toe that encourages a natural stride and bridges the gap between minimalist 'barefoot' style shoes and heavier, traditional designs. Cushioning is good, and an extra layer of EVA in the forefoot acts as a flexible strikeplate, protecting the foot from rough ground without affecting the natural flex of the shoe. The outsole has multi-directional helix lugs and a dedicated heel braking zone for good grip and control on rocky or wet trails. 

The uppers have Scarpa's close heel fit with a broad forefoot, and are held securely with a quick lace system that uses synthetic overlays to transfer lace pressure to the foot precisely, holding you in the optimal running position with minimal foot slip or slide. A synthetic rand runs around the upper to give extra protection and durability.The lightweight mesh fabrics breath and drain well allowing you to focus on the next obstacle in comfort.

The Scarpa Spark is a new style of trail shoe that balances grip, comfort and protection and will appeal to dedicated off-roaders as well as casual trail runners or for mixed terrain use.
