Disappointing
I have had three iterations of this shoe and sadly, the build quality has deteriorated with each version. Both the interior and exterior fabrics are prone to wear/splitting. Will not buy again Shame

Worst quality shoes I've ever purchased.
The heel is incredibly stiff and took some breaking in. The bigger issue is the fabric splitting, seams opening up and wear on the sole. The worst build quality in a shoe I've ever seen. Shame.

So uncomfortable
I had these on for the first time and wore them all day and my feet are still recovering days after. My toes felt pushed up at the front and there is not enough heel support. Poor.

Horrendously uncomfortable
I’m a huge fan of Salomon footwear, which is why I’m very disappointed with these shoes. Uncomfortable to the point I can’t wear them for long, material started to split after two months

Poor comfort, poor quality
There used to be cushioning inside the sole, but that has gone on the Ultra 4 compared with Ultra 3. There is less flex around the front therefore the same size in Ultra 3 is narrower in Ultra 4.

Good shoes BUT sort out the soles
These were my "go to" shoe for the past 5yrs - each pair lasts 2yrs. The current pair has failed with the inner material now under the sole now being the sole . I won't be buying these again.

A terrible iteration of a once-great shoe
I've been a loyal Solomon footwear customer for several years but these shoes are aweful. They look aweful, they feel cheaply made and aren't nearly as good as previous versions.

Sadly Avoid faults come quickly.
Years of Salamon shoes including previous GTX Ultras, these are the first I have had to return for quality issues, from rear heal liner split to parts of the sole starting to come lose after 60 miles.

Super comfy and durable
Comparing this to previous versions of the show is pointless. They are a great shoe and very very comfortable and a perfect fit. Will lay for years and look great.

Very uncomfortable
The previous version of this shoe X Ultra 3 was so comfortable but these are terrible. Everyone I meet walking agrees that Salonon have ruined the design of a perfect shoe with the X Ultra.

I have both the X ultra 4 and the X ultra 3.
The X ultra 3 was a far better shoe. The high lip on the heal makes the X ultra 4 more difficult the slip your foot into the shoe. To much plastic on sides
