Not happy

The 10 leaks water at the door when it rains it holds water at the front panel because there is a sake in the roof the guidelines of twisted overall the tent is worse than its predecessor

Good tent overall, loads of space in living area

bedrooms are fair size but you can only fit 6 single airbeds so not really a 8 berth. The side door is quite hard to open, and water comes in through front door when you open it. Guy ropes all twisted

Excellent tent!!

My family went last week in the worst weather possible, 50mph winds for 48hrs and torrential rain but this tent took everything brilliantly! Only downside no poles to make the doors into canopies!!

So much space!

The inside of tent is fab on rainy days! So much space for the whole family to sit inside comfortably & not feel cooped up! Only downside is sloped front lets rain in when door open, porch next buy!!

Great Camping experience

Nice and big spacious family tent . It was easy enough to put up and put away . The dark sleeping pods where great and we even managed to have a lay in as the sun didn't shine through !

Fabulous tent but no spares

This is an amazing tent, very big, airy and comfortable (I did buy the previous version). However a side pole broke on its first outing, and no one sells any spare steel poles for this tent.

Mega Value for Money

With porch we Love it.

It has loads of room. I've put a video on YouTube to encourage others to buy as it's great value for money but there's no info on it anywhere!

It’s all about comfort

Went into Go Outdoors to look at two tents we had shortlisted after internet research, neither of which were the Vanguard 8.

The two tents we made the trip to see, just didn’t work for us as a family for one reason or another. The Vanguard 8 caught our eye, so we spent some time checking it over.

We loved the space it offered in the main living area and also found the bedrooms to be very generous. It was nice to be able to stand in any area of the tent and not have to bend due to head space. However, the biggest selling point for us on this tent was definitely the blackout bedrooms! All the tents we went into offered a degree of darker sleeping space, but the Vanguard was the only one with proper, full blackout.

The one down side we found with the Vanguard 8 is the lack of shelter before entering the main tent. The built in shelter isn’t very big and really doesn’t offer much protection from bad weather, which means all dirty/ wet clothing would need to be taken off inside the tent, leaving the main living area wet and dirty. For this reason, we chose to purchase the add on front porch. It offers a good sized additional space which can be opened up or fully closed. Although it doesn’t have a ground sheet, it does offer a good sized space for storing bikes and for taking off dirty/wet clothing easy before stepping into the main tent.

It’s worth pointing out, that nowhere in the catalogue or even in store does it clearly show or say about an additional add on shelter and even online, it would be very easy to miss. We only found it because there was one shelter in a bag under all the other tent bags... had we not found this, we wouldn’t have purchased this tent!

We used the tent over the Easter weekend and can honestly say, it was a truly comfortable and spacious tent to spend time in. The blackout bedrooms worked a treat and even at 7pm when we put our 6yr old to bed, it was completely dark and she was even able to use her star projection night light!

We chose to purchase carp fishing beds, rather than camping beds, and whilst they are slightly bulkier than most camp beds, two fitted together very comfortably in one of the bedrooms and still left room for some storage!

All in all, it’s a really good tent that offers a large living space, excellent blackout rooms for sleeping and comfort. I would definitely recommend to friends and family

Ok

Blackout area was patchy and looked like seconds the net on the door was already snagged in multiple areas the porch when up only gives you a very small area due to the front of the tent sloping in to the porch area will require two people to put up no ground sheet with the front porch so you have a strap across the walk way which is dangerous no poles for the front door to be put up as a shelter carpet is two big for tent the bedrooms only fit three blow up beds each side so would say it’s a tight six man tent also the pods are on the short side the double raised air just fits length ways and makes the tent bulge the guy ropes all come twisted like springing up on themselves so they had to be re done
