Spacious, comfortable, multi-functional, quick and easy to pitch - a versatile 5-person tent that's great for longer camping trips. Exclusive to GO Outdoors!

The Vango Icarus Air Vista 500 is an easily-pitched AirBeam® tent with enough space for a family or group to camp, spread out and relax.

Its multi-functional front awning has two doors that can open separately and prop up to give you a very large living space. It has two spacious king sized bedrooms with 'lights-out' inners, and a roomy living area so you can spread out and relax with your fellow campers.

Practical, clever design touches and reliable construction and materials make sure it's a secure and comfortable shelter for you and your gear. And if you want even more space and luxury, try the optional Icarus Air Vista 500 Carpet for underfoot comfort, add protection and ease pitching with the Icarus Air Vista 500 footprint, or extend your shelter with the Icarus Air Vista Side Awning.

  • SkyTrack system lets you easily attach lighting or storage to the roof of the tent
  • High cable entry on internal wall, lets you keep control of cables
  • Generous king-sized bedrooms (big enough for a double sized airbed or mat) with toggled inner divider
  • Mesh door entrance aids ventilation and keeps bugs out, along with fully sewn-in groundsheet
  • Groundsheet is attached to the flysheet with external storm skirt for effective all-round protection
  • 'Lights out' inner tent made from darker fabric, reduces the amount of early morning light
  • Low and high ventilation combine to create a comfortable flow of air through the tent
  • Covered entrance prevents rain from getting in to the living area
  • Double zip door, can open partially for extra ventilation
  • Conveniently positioned bedroom pockets for storing your essentials
  • Diamond Clear windows maximise light in and visibility out (toggled roll-away curtains provide privacy when required)
  • High visibility guylines for less hazard in low light
  • Comes in expandable tent bag with an oversized wide opening, for simple packing away (compression straps let you shrink it down)
  • Double action pump included for Airbeam inflation

The inflatable AirBeam structure means that your tent is securely erect in a matter of minutes, with pre-angled beams making for a roomier internal space. The Protex® 70 denier polyester flysheet is highly waterproof, durable and reliable fabric, and the waterproof, lightweight groundsheet is made from robust and hardwearing PE fabric. All flysheet and groundsheet seams are factory taped for a totally watertight seal. Patented Vango's patented  TBS®II Tension Band System keeps the tent safe in adverse conditions, like strong, changeable winds(this can be stowed away when not needed in calm weather).

Another smasher from Vango. Brilliant.

Have had this tent up in recent bad weather. 50+mph winds. Rain that blows from left to right. As opposed to the straight down type. Like all tents. It needs to be pitched correctly for it to work.

Worst tent ever

This is our first tent we have ever bought as a family and what a mistake it was. First thing first flys it attracts every fly known to man in porch area. No ventilation at all n no accessories available

The worst tent I have owned.

This is being returned to Go Outdoors as soon as I finish my holiday. There is no ventilation except 2 small flaps and it leaks like sieve along all zips and air poles. Also puddles form on the top.

lovely tent, just needs more ventilation.

I must have visited go outdoors 10 times just to check out this tent before i bought it.
The size, shape and functionality is perfect for a weekend away with the kids. As a single mum of three i managed to pitch it on my own in about 30 minutes.
The only thing that lets it down is ventilation. We had a hot weekend and it was like an oven in the tent. It would have been perfect with a fly sheet on the large window and side door so i could secure my dog in the tent and have plenty of air circulating. Single zip on the side door so you cant open it a little at the top for more air.
Through the night the condensation filled the roof and caused puddles at the bottom of the air beams, but easily mopped up.
I still cant wait to take it out again.

Good tent some minor flaws

Just had this tent fully tested in heavy wind and rain in Wicklow. It performed exceptionally well with only a few bits of water in the front awning section.Easy to put up and really sturdy with the storm straps in place.I agree with the other review that a fly screen and would be good on side entrance and easier access would be better on the main entrance but altogether I am more than satisfied with this tent.We had 2 young children as well.

We had one of these tents I couldn't wait to buy it when I saw it,, and looked perfect for our needs. (family of 3) and however the first trip away was a disappointment. I the side door leaked in 3 separate places the first time it saw any rain, and for me was lacking some basic features., no fly screens on the side entry door, and no 2 way zips,
ALSO the front door is really annoying as you have to unpeg it to use it properly but otherwise your just squeezing through the slit between the 2 door sections, and the didn't want to use the side door as already said no fly screen,
Good points I did like the near vertical side walls gives real feeling of space. The easy to pitch..
As things turned out I returned it due to the leaks and go outdoors were very helpful in finding us a different replacement

great tent

Very pleased with this tent. The layout works very well. Have not had any problems with leaks and we were caught in storm Hector.
The only niggle is with the side door, when the poles are fitted for the side canopy they push on the beams and put tension on the door. This really pulls on the zip and am concerned this may rip. Also, a mesh on the side door would be great.

Great tent

Used this tent a few times this year. Easy to pitch. Even easier if you buy the footprint.

One possible drawback is the weedy privacy curtain between the two bedrooms, but it's ok for us & our 15 year old son. (Lost 1 star for this).

Someone posted about water puddles at the bottom of the airbeams. This is condensation due to the temp difference of outside & the air in the beam. Airflow is the answer. It's in the documentation.

Such a shame!

We've tried two of these tents now and both have leaked in the same places, at the bottom of every air beam. With the beams up against the outer shell of the tent, any rain simply runs down the outside of the beams soaking the floor of the tent. Such a shame as the tent's shape, size & function are fantastic. I will be returning this tent
