Went away for four days and had wind and rain a couple of days and the tent held up well. It stayed up and no leaks. The only issue we had was lack of windows and due to rain meant window could only be half opened. When sun came out it was great to be able to open door and have light come in but would have been ideal to have more or a larger window.

Great tent for families
We have used this tent twice now for our family of 5. Very quick to put up and take down, and handles wet and windy weather very well. We bought the bundle including the footprint and carpet and this helps keep the tent nice and warm. The only downside is the lack of porch/awning for this tent, however we did find a universal one which fits. The space inside is fantastic for short breaks, however we feel an awning is needed to be able to cook safely, and also so we can keep the tent open while it's warm but raining. We like the tent so much that we have booked our first week long camping trip for next year!

Good sturdy tent. Easy to put up. Very waterproof. Perfect for family camping. Airy living space but great sized bedrooms too. Gone through a lot of tents but this one has been the only one to stand the test of time and hold up against wind and rain.

We bought our tent to have weekends away with the dog,on our first trip it had Gayle force winds 45 mph and trenchal rain ,but the tent took it all,it is to to put up,lots of spacious room sowen in ground sheet so no drafts at all.Even with strong winds, only recommendation would be to have stronger pegs for the guidelines, I bought two light weight tarpaulins for the footprint instead of the footprint at go outdoors and got the carpet instead of the one in store!!! All round very happy, steel poles instead of flimsly fiberglass are BRILLIANT !!!!,,,,, overall 9\10 ......

Could not ask for a better family tent. Plenty of living space, enough room for bags, suitcases and chairs for our family of five. Steel poles are sturdy and have withstood some pretty high winds in Scotland! Also very waterproof, torrential downpour in Derbyshire and no problem for this tent. Perfectly dry in mornings. Easy to put up. Could potentially be done by one person alone but we manage it really easily with 2 of us. Been on 6 family camping trips with this tent over past 2 years and still going strong. Really recommend!

Hi Gear Spirit 6 review, 3 wet August days 2015
I bought this as a weekend/short stay tent as I could see from visiting a display model there was sufficient room for a double airbed at both ends with room for bags too and just about enough room in the middle section for table and chairs with a bit of a squeeze (which is ok for a few nights). Vis a Vis (bedroom at each end) tents like this one allow you to be seperate from the growing kids who want their privacy. Also I was impressed with the steel side poles as these looked sturdy. (This makes tent heavier but if you have a car so what). There is sufficient height in the tent for me at 6ft 1 to move about the central section. I would never buy a fibreglass pole tent of this height and width as there would be too much tension in the poles and they would likely snap over time. As this one just has fibreglass poles for the roof the strain is much much lower. The side poles clip on to the flysheet but I do wonder over time whether those clips will deteriorate and snap. When I used it for the 3 nights it rained and rained and rained some more. There was the odd drop coming through the flysheet but I think tents tighten up over time and it is common for the first use to leak a little. There certainly was not puddles though (except sitting on the roof and perhaps that was me not erecting tent properly) . The only negative thing I would say is the little rain canopy above the (only) entrance door is fiddly and the seemed under a lot of strain to get the fibreglass pole in. i gave up in the end as I thought I was going to rip the tent. When I looked at the display model I could see a slight rip in the stitching there probably due to the strain. I reckon I might saw a tiny bit off each end of the pole section to shorten it and see if that helps. The oversized bag meant you could pack tent away again ok.
Overall: A good tent for short breaks for a family of 4. (I have an older style 8 man tent I use for longer breaks). Probably a bit cramped for 6 especially if you had lots of bags and had tables/chairs inside in the rain. A dodgy rain canopy though. I only paid £189 for this with the carpet and footprint when it was on offer so a great incomparable price at the time for size of tent and one with steel poles, so I can put up with the rain canopy. I see it is £350 currently - I would not pay that. You could get for example Kampa watergate 6 which is more roomy and vis a vis style.

We were very happy to get this tent in a bundle deal, at the recommendation of Go Outdoors staff. It was easy to put up, spacious enough for our family to sleep in comfortably, and store our stuff in the middle section. But when we put it up for a trial run, and it rained all night, it leaked.
Where the flap round the outside edge touched the bottom of the sewn in groundsheet on the outside, the water dripped through the inside seam all the way round. There was no way of pegging it out.
We returned it and exchanged for another believing it to be a manufacturing fault, but on our real camping trip it did the same thing, as well as leaking through the roof above the sleeping compartments so we woke to puddles of water and drops rolling down even though we hadnt touched it at all.
Due to more predicted rain we headed home a day early and will be asking for a full refund.
Its great for sunny weather camping, but if its raining even a bit, dont use it!

Great easy tent
I wanted an easy no fuss tent quick to pitch and two good sized bedrooms. That's what I got! Myself (the mum) with my three children pitched it in the garden, it took 15 mins to get the outer tent up and I left the children to hang the inner tents etc. it's a really good size. We use the huge super king sized airbeds and the bedrooms are more than big enough for them. The living area in the middle is plenty big enough for storage, to eat in the rain or like us, put another bed for an extra child plus the dogs. The deal with the footprint and carpet is fab and really makes it feel warm and cosy inside. The kids are in there now, there may be rain overnight so fingers crossed it keeps them warm and dry. I think it will. It has a decent feel to it.

Nice tent, fairly big and very heavy to carry but easy to put up. Good strong poles. Perfect for our family of 4 but could easily sleep up to 8. Shame about the colour, I know it's a minor thing but it's a very unattractive mushy pea shade of green!
