absolute shite one pole snapped after 4 uses currently trying to get a refund avoid at all costs
Lightweight, comfortable and rigid. Did Pen Y Ghent with them and they were brilliant. By no means indestructible but more than up to the job. Only negative is that the rubber caps wore out quickly.
I've had these several years and think they're great. Such lightweight poles at this price probably otherwise unobtainable. I once dropped one off a stile onto someone who was really impressed!
Bought mine from Stockton on Tees and was disappointed. On my first walk they would not stay up no matter how tight I had the screws. They kept sliding down all time. Took them back and got refund.
Great for general walking
Had these poles a while now and waited till they have been used a few times before I write a review. Have to say mine have been battered around the lake district and they have been great. No issues.
Light and easy to adjust
Good Quality and value for money
Poor used them twice and they snapped, really disappointed
I bought these in the New Year sales ready for when the lockdown eases, the first time I used them at a local spot, the end of one the poles cracked off leaving that one now useable.
Purchased two pairs of these poles for a trek across Dartmoor. During the trip we lost 3 of the 4 baskets. I reached out to GoOutdoors for replacements but were told they don’t sell them.
These poles have been fantastic so far on 3 walks, nearly 30 miles over varied terrain and up a few mountains. Very light and flexible, with good grip and strap adjustment. Only issue is the rubber
So close to being amazing. Great locking, sturdy but the feet are awful. 5 mile forest walk, 6 mile hill walk then 4 miles up Ben Nevis metal had worn through rubber. Should last longer than 15 miles
Great poles, locking system easy to use and adjust when your terrain changes. Easy to collapse them and stow away for any scrambling, rucksack dependant. Needed spare tips as did lose two during training hikes over last year. Would recommend ????
This product is shocking for the price, i bought a set of oex walking poles ready to take to the lakes, tried them out at home on a FLAT floor for me to push off once, to my amazement they Had snapped on the lightweight flimsy plastic clips... second purchase of oex that has been rubbish.
I bought these poles from the Nottingham stores where the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. They were bought to firstly cover the 21 miles of the Edale sky line walk then Ben Nevis the week after. The Edale walk was done in the high 20 degrees and the foam grips on the poles were comfy all day even with pretty sweaty palms the poles are quite a bit lighter than the aluminium leki ones I'd borrowed from a mate and due to the slight flex offered by the carbon, shock absorption was noticeably better. I am no light weight at 18 1/2 stone but even with some serious pressure being placed on them when decending the quick clamp system showed absolutely no signs of slipping which instilled lots of confidence. I have just come back from climbing Ben Nevis and i can honestly say i couldn't be happier with my purchase they were brilliant up hill and down, easy to adjust, light, sturdy and comfy. And considering the price i think you would do well to better them. If you looking for a great set of poles and don't want to spend a hundred quid plus then try these.
I bought these as a gift for my mother.
They are lightweight with soft grips and wrist loops. They are fairly easy to adjust to the right height: flip the lever to release, and slowly pull out to the right length (this can be done at the bottom as well as the midpoint) - once the right height is achieved on both poles, a screw can be tightened to fix the setting. This seems more reliable than the standard "twist and pull" on cheaper poles - time will tell.
I plan to return and buy a pair for myself!
Purchased from the Blackburn store. I have a permanent knee injury and on advise from the staff tried the OEX poles.
The first outing was Nethermost Pike in the snow and I found the poles to be very light and did dramatically reduce discomfort on the downhill sections, and increase stability.
The locking action is very positive and possibly superior to the alternative screw type. Overall a very good purchase.
Had these for little over a week now, can't believe how light they are. For the price I wasn't expecting the build quality to be up to much but I'm quite surprised, they seem to have been put together well, only time and use will tell.
Bought these about 3 years ago, the first one broke after a year and the second one has now broken. Poles have only had light use, they both brock where the pole clamp meets the pole.
Don't buy!
