A roomy and easy to pitch base for 5 campers or festival-goers.
The Vango Icarus 500DLX's space and simplicity make it a very popular weekend tent for family camping or festival visits. The roomy sleeping space, large windows and effective ventilation mean it's a comfy shelter for any outdoor trips.
EASY PITCHING The Icarus erects simply 'as-one' and the inner tent stays dry. Vango's Tension Band System makes it more stable in windy conditions.
STURDY CONSTRUCTION The reliably waterproof flysheet and fully sewn-in groundsheet make sure the interior is dry, draught-free-and bug-free.
VERSATILE LAYOUT The spacious front porch is great for storing gear, furniture, bikes etc, and large windows give great all-round visibility and let light in. A side mesh door allows for insect-free airflow, and the parallel-zip front door can extend out as a canopy using awning poles (not included).
TOTAL COMFORT Effective venting and a breathable inner avoid stuffiness inside, and 'comfort colours' (darker over the bedroom) mean there's no rush to get out of an overheating tent on bright mornings.
An oversized carry-bag makes packing and storing simple.
(Please note: models from 2016 onwards do not feature the guyline tensioners shown in this video)
Great Tent Buy Stakes For The Guy Ropes and extra pegs.
I had the 2018 version which was a great tent and stood up to harsh weather conditions.
The Tent Pegs supplied with most tents are useless in windy conditions.I purchased the really heavy tent stakes.

Poor quality, not worth the money,
One time use, 3 guylines broke in a slight wind of 15-16 mph, tension system is useless, poles flex far to much, Inside tent has tiny tears all over the place at the seams

Stay away from Vango
I have had nothing but trouble with this tent and during my first trip all poles snapped with a light breeze. Walking around the site, every Vango had the same issue whilst others were fine.

Great weekend tent
Love this tent and waterproof, no leaks at all and stood up to Scottish gales and extreme rain with only one broken pole and a couple of little rips. It performed to its description of weekend tent.

Perfect and sturdy
Bought this tent to use around Scotland. So it needed to be sturdy. It has just had it's first test, no leaks, 40mph winds had no effect. Superb. Roomy. Practical. Well made. I love it.

A great all round tent, but...
A great all round tent, easy to pitch and loads of room. Unfortunately we had a night of persistent wind and the poles snapped causing the tent to collapse, a problem we hear with all fibreglass poles

icarus 500 tent and awning
Bought this tent and all the extra stuff needed for a a pair of o.a.p's who never camped for years after selling our caravan, but must say this tent is great. Used it 4/5 times last year for long weekends in all kinds of weather the British summer can throw at you, without any problems at all. Word of advice, if like me and the mrs, your new to camping make sure you buy all the other stuff to make your camping ENJOYABLE.

A good spacious tent
We brought this tent to go to Scotland on our holiday. The weather was raining most of the time but due to the sewn in ground sheet prevented the rain coming in from the ground. We did not get the extras for example the footprint, carpet and canopy but did find it spacious.
We found the tent easy to erect and take down with the help of the colour coded poles and the "inner" bedroom section.
Only problem we had was water or condensation coming in from somewhere so before our next outing will have to waterproof tent to make sure it is waterproof.
When we got back erected tent to dry out and only took about 1 hour to do this.
Roll on to our next camping holiday.
