First pair last less then one year they ware replaced under warranty. Second pair last 13 months. Could not get a replacement
Bought in Jan 24, Used boots once @ Scafell, and went to Glencoe June ‘24, (second use) the rubber on the on both sides of the left boot came away
V disappointed due to cost and expectation of brand
As other users/reviewers have stated, on my pair, the sole-plates detached from the boot around the rand. This is despite been well cared for by me, I think the bonding glue ages or isn't waterproof.
4.5 years of light use on costal paths. Given the price, I was expecting them to last years. They were comfortable gave good ankle support, waterproof, then, last week the soles came off both boots.
Had theese boots about 4 years sole came off 1 and the other boots sole is coming away
Very comfy boot & waterproof, kept feet dry whilst climbing Gordale Scar in flood. However, having only done a relatively low mileage in them, I estimate under 500 in 6 years the soles came away.
Midsoles disintegrate, Meindl post a poor excuse on website to blame customers/avoid paying out. The outsole looked new when I had to walk back 3miles with flappy soles. Fine pair of slippers
Comfortable and better than most for waterproofness but I wouldn't buy them again because after six months and about 500 miles they look like they're falling apart - the rubber rand has become loose .
Initially I thought they were comfortable but after breaking in at home, locally and then putting 50 miles on them. I can honestly say the soles of these boots are way too hard.
Very comfortable but the uppers on my first pair cracked across the crease lines (even with correct cleaning and waxing) and the sole has rotted on my second pair - and at £220+ a pair? Avoid!
My first pair were dead on arrival due to unravelling stitching.
The rubber rand on the replacement pair began peeling after less than 50 miles' use.
Great staff but terrible product. Avoid Meindl!
After a couple of years the "PU of the midsole degrades and eventually disintegrate" - this was the feedback from the UK importer- they had the cheek to offer a resole service for £110! ....avoid
The saying buy cheap buy twice doesn't apply in this case Uppers not too bad but the important bits the sole only lasted 9months estimated walking miles approx 800 in my view not enough steer clear
Had these for 12 years. Just sending them off for a resole as uppers are still near perfect. Great boots.
I've had these from GO for two years now. They leak. They are very comfy although if you don't tie them well you might get a tongue pinch! The leak is most annoying. At this price unacceptable
Very well made quality is as you expected. Comfort is a straight 10 / 10 highly recommend
So comfortable , best fitting boots I’ve had
comfortable boots which are quite light and have a neat fit. Work well for scrambling. Ok for occassional crampon use.
best fitting boots I've ever worn!
These boots are quite heavy and I haven’t found them very comfortable, although they do give good ankle support. I’ve worn them most days for walking my dogs in woodland and on farmland – so not heavy use. They were expensive and I expected them to last. I’ve always rinsed them off after use and regularly treated the leather. Initially, I used Meindl own-brand leather care but was not impressed; better products are available.
After just over 2 years, when they were only a couple of weeks out of warranty, the midsoles began to crumble under the heel. The boots were returned to Meindl, who refused to replace them but reluctantly agreed to re-sole them. They also fitted a broad rubber rand. Now, 2 years on, that rand is peeling away, the leather has split around the flex area and the boots leak. The Lowa boots I had before were about 2/3 of the price and lasted much longer.
I am now looking at replacements and one thing is sure – I will never buy Meindl again.
