Men's Footwear Size Guide

Measuring tips

Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.

Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.

Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.

A missed opportunity. It took an hour for the water to come through but come through it did. Shame, as they are super comfortable and sturdy. Good for dry hiking, otherwise forget it. Shame

Good for rambling

Comfortable and light. Good for trails in the Peak District and most of the Lairig Ghru - not stiff enough for the higher bits but managed on a trip from Blair to Aviemore. Hillmaster better for this.

NOT waterproof, but comfortable & stylish (I think)

Despite many bad reviews about bad waterproofing, I bought these anyway - They do not hold up to the wet moors!
GO Outdoors customer service was EXCELLENT, & I could change for another brand... Nice!

Very comfortable but not lasting waterproof

These former Brasher boots are very comfortable but after ten early morning rounds of golf through wet grass, they were not waterproof anymore. The goretex lining must be must be fabricated poorly.

New Boots

Fed up of getting wet feet walking the dog up the mountain, went to go outdoors. Got to say thank you to the 2 sales guys in Swansea branch for their help, had to go up half a size, boots feel great.

Best boots that I have ever had? Great value!

After many years of trying different types of boots, I discovered these last year. Worn twice a week on hills. Sturdy, completely waterproof, comfortable, great grip. I have just ordered another pair!

Berghouse / Brasher Boots

The most comfortable boots have owned. Sadly, I can not recommended them if you want long lasting boots - boots that need replacing due to reduced tread remaining. After no more than 250 waking miles, tread is like new but the uppers are coming away from the sole!

Beghause hilllwalker gtx 11

These berghaus boots, are the most comfy boots that, have been on my feet for a long time. I have tried, various makes and styles, but nothing beats, these ones. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for boots. Hard wearing and durable, in all conditions

Amazing comfort, not waterproof

I have now had these boots for just over a year, They are amazingly comfortable right out of the box. They are supple and supportive but not stiff like some of the mountain boots are. However after 3 months they started to let water in just walking in long grass, and continue get worse and worse, I use waterproof wax coupled with waterproof socks so I can still enjoy the comfort. Such a shame as they could have been perfect.

These boots are fantastic. They were good to wear straight away and not I’ve broken them in more, they are like wearing comfy slippers!

Berghaus Hillwalker II GTX

I do NOT recommend these boots if you are looking to buy a long lasting product ie the boots reach a stage where there is little tread left. The boots I have recently thrown out have a lovely tread, but alas the uppers are coming away from the sole resulting in gaping holes. There are also deep crease marks along the toe line despite my consiensious cleaning. My experience is not a one off as a fellow walker has the same problem with her Berghaus boots.

Great lightweight boot, perhaps a bit too flexible for some

I purchased these boots for hiking around the highlands. They are light, al leather with minimal stitching and so far, as expected are waterproof. One thing I did find very early on is that they the sole is very flexible so the arches of my feet were quite sore the day after a hike. I have solved this by putting my proper prescription insoles in the boots. I recently did a three day hike in the highlands and the boots performed incredibly, even after a couple of knee deep plunges into bogs. I also have a pet peeve with mine. The leather at the toe really looks like it soaking in water when wet. This makes me nervous but as of yet, with proper cleaning and treatment my feet are always bone dry. I would recommend these boots.

Not quite comfy straight from the box

As with all boots I've owned, still need a bit of breaking in. Foot area is very comfortable but ankle area is a bit stiff. As usual, bit of trial and error with the laces seems to be sorting that out though. As good as any other boots I've owned and better than quite a few.

Great Boot

I bought these boots to climb Snowdon. We scaled the Crib Goch knife edge route and these boots were fantastic. Great grip when climbing the rocks with sturdy ankle support. Very lightweight and comfortable. I had only walked to and from work (approx 3 miles) a handful of times to break them in prior to the climb and had absolutely no issues with rubbing. All in all a good quality boot that looked after will last years. Would certainly recommend.

Best £117 I ever spent.

It’s hard to tell if a pair of boots are going to suit you as you have to wear them. I felt sceptical about buying an expensive pair, but the moment I tried them on I felt like these would be good. However, I had no idea how good, they are brilliant. I worn them on a few short walks to break them in, and they were comfortable. I then tackled Scafell Pike in them and they were very very comfortable. My feat stayed warm and dry, they tackled the snow at the top with ease and the low back made them versatile and stable on the rough terrain. 100% the best £100 I’ve ever spent. Planing many more walks with these.
