Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.
Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.
Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.
I’ve had these boots for just over a year and at times I was walking around 28-30 miles a week in all weathers. These are my second pair of Meindl’s, the other pair lasted 11 years! Say no more.
had to return these boots after just 6 weeks as they were leaking round the toe area, the leather would turn dark brown and take 48 hours to dry out, not what id expect from a boot of this price,
My only regret is I didn't buy these years ago. As a professional dog Walker I cover many miles over rough terrain and in all weathers. These boots are definitely fit for purpose and very comfortable.
I wear boots 5/6 days a week and upto 12 hrs at a time and for 27 years have worn them out in about 8 months
Until I bought a pair of these and 3 years later are still going strong worth every penny
Very comfortable boots. However, G.O. should stock size 7.5 because the gap between size 7 and 8 is too large. Because of this I'm always forced to buy them from another retailer.
straight from the box onto the hills, I did not need to break them in. worn in many contries and cover many many miles the sole is just starting to wear out but they can be reoled if needed. good buy
These boots are amazingly comfortable and look the business.
However they are not a walking boot, the rubber will perish, the sole will start to come off.
This is my second pair of Meindl boots, the first being a pair of Merans. They were excellent and these are the same great quality too. Great fit straight out of the box .
Great boot had these now for 3 years and they have stood up to every test. The worse the weather and higher the mountain the better the boot performs. Spend the extra money and get something that lasts.
The boots are very comfortable but not used outdoors yet so early days.
I just wanted to say thanks to Peter at the Wigan store for being so helpful and spending time with me. I have been looking for a new pair of boots for some time now but with his advice I felt confident to make this purchase.
Not impressed.poor quality leather cracked along toe crease, soon as that happens goretex fails and they are not water proof only lasted 5 years, I did dub them,in retrospect think would have to religious dub after every single outing for them to last
These are my second pair. Comfortable from first use. You can't get better.
Bought these again after my last pair finally gave up the ghost after 18 years of abuse! Love them, wouldn’t wear any other brand when it comes to fantastic boot...
Because of the tongue and lacing system, no matter how you tie the laces, eventually they rub either around the top of the foot or ankle causing pain and discomfort. This boot does not allow for that movement at the top of the foot comfortably. If you loosen it there then you get rubbing somewhere else.. I've had mine for 2 years and have never had a comfortable walk in them after trying all kinds of different lacing configurations. If you are going for a 10 minute walk with the dog along flat terrain, then you should be OK, but for walking up mountains I say no! Some people might find these OK, maybe it just depends on your foot shape. Other than that, they are a good quality boot.
Lovely boots but no good if you've got wide feet their a narrow fit,I brought some 9.5 or 44 felt fine initially. But once I'd put a decent insole to replace the rubbish oem one,(staff said nothing about this trying them) add my walking socks the boots where too snug !
I even tried the size 10 had the same narrow cut so Meindl's are absolutely no good for my feet.
Very expensive for a product that doesn't suit me.
My second pair, great quality.
Enough said, these are the best shoes I have ever owned. Last for years and are comfy as anything
Had to dash out and buy these a few days before a charity trek up Snowdon as my boots of many years suddenly gave up the ghost on a training session. Originally tried on another make of boots and was ready to purchase these but asked to try a half size, this wasn't available in the other boots make. Perhaps just as well, because once I put my foot in the boot I knew this was the boot for me. Most probably the most comfortable boot I have ever worn, they were worn for the trek after one short walk two days before and caused no problems for my feet at all. What more can I say!!!
These boots are of excellent quality, they are really well made. I have just returned from the Lake District and I used these boots whilst walking through water and over very rugged terrain. They are really comfortable, gripped extremely well, and gave excellent support whilst hiking around the Lakes, and by keeping my feet warm, comfortable and dry. Another classic boot by Meindl !
I'd originally planned to buy boots from another brand, however I tried these on in the shop for comparison & the fit was suberb. Following 3 months use on Dartmoor I couldn't be happier!
