Men's Footwear Size Guide

Measuring tips

Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.

Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.

Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.

Best boots I’ve ever bought

I wear boots 5/6 days a week and upto 12 hrs at a time and for 27 years have worn them out in about 8 months
Until I bought a pair of these and 3 years later are still going strong worth every penny

Great boot, but Go Outdoors should offer more sizes

Very comfortable boots. However, G.O. should stock size 7.5 because the gap between size 7 and 8 is too large. Because of this I'm always forced to buy them from another retailer.

so comfortable

straight from the box onto the hills, I did not need to break them in. worn in many contries and cover many many miles the sole is just starting to wear out but they can be reoled if needed. good buy

Two pairs in 5 years

These boots are amazingly comfortable and look the business.

However they are not a walking boot, the rubber will perish, the sole will start to come off.

Meindl Bhutan

This is my second pair of Meindl boots, the first being a pair of Merans. They were excellent and these are the same great quality too. Great fit straight out of the box .

The harsher the better.

Great boot had these now for 3 years and they have stood up to every test. The worse the weather and higher the mountain the better the boot performs. Spend the extra money and get something that lasts.

Wigan Store

The boots are very comfortable but not used outdoors yet so early days.
I just wanted to say thanks to Peter at the Wigan store for being so helpful and spending time with me. I have been looking for a new pair of boots for some time now but with his advice I felt confident to make this purchase.

Bhutan boot

Not impressed.poor quality leather cracked along toe crease, soon as that happens goretex fails and they are not water proof only lasted 5 years, I did dub them,in retrospect think would have to religious dub after every single outing for them to last

Bought these again after my last pair finally gave up the ghost after 18 years of abuse! Love them, wouldn’t wear any other brand when it comes to fantastic boot...

Not comfortable mainly around ankle and top

Because of the tongue and lacing system, no matter how you tie the laces, eventually they rub either around the top of the foot or ankle causing pain and discomfort. This boot does not allow for that movement at the top of the foot comfortably. If you loosen it there then you get rubbing somewhere else.. I've had mine for 2 years and have never had a comfortable walk in them after trying all kinds of different lacing configurations. If you are going for a 10 minute walk with the dog along flat terrain, then you should be OK, but for walking up mountains I say no! Some people might find these OK, maybe it just depends on your foot shape. Other than that, they are a good quality boot.

Beware these are narrow fitting boots

Lovely boots but no good if you've got wide feet their a narrow fit,I brought some 9.5 or 44 felt fine initially. But once I'd put a decent insole to replace the rubbish oem one,(staff said nothing about this trying them) add my walking socks the boots where too snug !
I even tried the size 10 had the same narrow cut so Meindl's are absolutely no good for my feet.
Very expensive for a product that doesn't suit me.

The Most Comfortable Boots Ever

Had to dash out and buy these a few days before a charity trek up Snowdon as my boots of many years suddenly gave up the ghost on a training session. Originally tried on another make of boots and was ready to purchase these but asked to try a half size, this wasn't available in the other boots make. Perhaps just as well, because once I put my foot in the boot I knew this was the boot for me. Most probably the most comfortable boot I have ever worn, they were worn for the trek after one short walk two days before and caused no problems for my feet at all. What more can I say!!!

Mendoza Bhutan MFS Walking Boot

These boots are of excellent quality, they are really well made. I have just returned from the Lake District and I used these boots whilst walking through water and over very rugged terrain. They are really comfortable, gripped extremely well, and gave excellent support whilst hiking around the Lakes, and by keeping my feet warm, comfortable and dry. Another classic boot by Meindl !

The practicality of boots with the comfort of slippers

These boots are sent from heaven and blessed by the gods to slide perfectly on, and mould perfectly to, your feet. I where mine all day, every day and these have lasted over twice as long as any other boots I have purchased. So yes they are expensive but I would rather pay 50% extra and them last 100% longer :). I am on my second pair, the old pair designated to garage work and manual labour but still in perfect working order. Me and my boots go everywhere together; dog walk, mountain climbing, work, out to dinner, on holiday, to the beach, driving, you name it. They are so comfy and with a bit of dark brown kiwi polish they look very smart with jeans. What more could you ask for.

Meindl Bhutan MFS Walking Boot

I simply love these boots. Really well made, top quality and sturdy walking boot. Super comfortable in all areas and your foot doesn't get too hot. Awesome.

First impressions are good

I've only been wearing them a few weeks but so far they've been very comfortable. My feet get blistered really easily but I've been on a 10 mile starter walk with these and there's no sign of blistering at all which considering I've not really worn the boots in yet is pretty amazing with my feet! They appear to be pretty well made and I've confidence that if I look after them they'll last.

excellent all round boot

I bought these boots about 2 years ago. I needed a good strong reliable boot. I am a dog walker so walk 10-12 miles every day 7 days a week, every month of the year with very few days off. When i do get time off we go to the lakes and do some of the major beautiful walks in the Keswick area.
So i needed something that was immediately comfortable out of the box - they were , i wore them the day after buying and was so happy they stood up to the rain immediately.
Now 2 years later the front of the boot is just starting to let in a tiny little bit of dampness in long wet grass, and the heel is starting to get too worn down to continue wearing. However they have served me very well and I have absolutely no complaints about this comfortable all round boot.
I have waterproofed them regularly to keep them as waterproof as possible.
I only wish the rubber bumper on the front came more over the front of the boot to protect from long wet grass - the killer for any boot.

I am now just about to get out to Go Outdoors once again for my next pair of boots - not sure between the Bhutans, the Vakuum or the Mammut Trovat. but they will have to go some to beat the comfort of the bhutan
