A versatile lightweight and waterproof shoe for any active outdoor fun.

GORE-TEX® TechnologiesThe Scarpa Vortex XCR is ideal for hiking, day-long walking trips on mixed terrain, walks along paths, or any light off-road pursuit.

Versatile, waterproof and comfortable, it's cushioning and supportive but ideal for those who prefer a little more freedom at the ankle.

The Gore-Tex (Extended Comfort Footwear) lining guarantees waterproof protection and breathability, while the tried and tested Vibram Dynatech2 sole unit keeps you firmly planted on any terrain with enough shock protection to hammer long distances.

And although they're very lightweight, the Vortex XCR has been hand built by Scarpa so, as usual, quality isn’t sacrificed.

Men's Scarpa Footwear Size Guide

Measuring tips

Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.

Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet.

Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.

Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.

Comfy-short life

Had several pairs of Scarpa boots but these were very disappointing because in a short time the interior lining wore out on the heel- brought a different make. Shame that they reduce the quality!

Bombproof!

I am now on my 3rd pair of these shoes (and second pair of Scarpa boots). I have worked my way through other manufacturers but have never found anything close to these for comfort, wear and durability

Scarpa Vortex GTX

I have been wearing these walking shoes for almost 20 years on my 4th pair now. Well made robust comfortable buying quality does pay. Nice to be able to buy these shoes at a great discounted price locally

Scarpa Vortex

I've only had these shoes a couple of weeks, but they seem excellent - comfortable and very well built, with really good quality soles and uppers. I've made the mistake before of buying cheaper walking shoes which fall apart in months. It's a false economy. Better to stump the cash for shoes that will really do the job.

Scarpa

This is my second pair of Scarpa walking shoes and I have found them to be extremely comfortable, waterproof, durable and reliable.

excellent all round shoe

Bought my first pair of these 6 years ago and they were the best buy I've made in approach shoes, equally at home either in town or in the country. The fit is very comfortable and have even used them for short runs.

Scarpa Vortex

My first pair of these have lasted more than five years and still have a lot of life in them. Some wear central front sole and inside the insole pretty much worn out. I put in new insoles and they are back to feeling almost as good as new again. However, I just bought a new pair of exactly the same because they are BRILLIANT, - comfortable and strong. I wear one pair of shoes like these all the time, around the house, walking on holiday, cycling and shopping. Best shoes I've ever had.

Creak, creak!

On my second pair. 1st pair very good although as with most GTX shoes not waterproof for very long. But second pair have become very creaky and can only be worn without embarrassment if there is a decent amount of background noise!

Scarpa Vortex

My first pair have been excellent for walking or safari holidays and still in use. I was so pleased I have bought another pair.

Very good fit and good grip.

One of the best approach shoes I ever had. Scarpa don't always fit me the best but I found these did and although they are nore than I wanted to pay they are worth the money. Good grip and high comfort and lasting well too.

Scraps Approach Shoes

I have used Scarpa footwear for all of my outdoor activities. They all fit my feet superbly. These are no exception, and despite the fact that they wear extremely well, this is my fourth pair! (Yes. I live in them!)

Squeaky

I have owned these shoes for just over 12 months and do wear them a lot. They have been very comfortable and so far 100% waterproof. - so far so good.. Unfortunately they have developed an embarrassing squeak on the left foot. They are a long way from worn out but due to the annoying noise are now unwearable.

Soles not resistant to thorns.

I paid over £120 for a pair of these shoes. Soon after purchase when walking along a country lane a blackthorn on a small piece of twig lying in the road went straight through the sole of the left shoe into my foot. Even though I had not put my full weight on the ground, the thorn went through easily. The water proof membrane is of course breached and when walking in wet conditions water will be pumped into the foot compartment. Neither Scarpa, who the shoes were returned to , nor Go Outdoor accept that this is a failure and the shoes are not suitable for the purpose for which they were sold i.e. walking in the countryside. I advise do not buy Scarpa shoes as they are not fit for purpose.

Great shoes

Happy owner for more than two years. Brilliant shoes; comfortable in town, durable in country.

Comfy shoes with issues

Now I have been wearing the shoes for a while i feel i can now give feed back. They were instantly comfortable with a minimal bedding in period. While i have yet to try the waterproofness of them I'm confident that they will meet my needs.

The only issue i have is they creak!!I have fount the cause, its the laces rubbing in the lace loops. Im hoping that this will ease once they have got wet n muddy.

Scarpa Vortex Xcr

First impression is a very good shoe, slightly over firm sole but generally very comfortable. If durability matches first impression then they will be a five star shoe.

Quality being seriously reduced

This is the 6th pair of these shoes I have purchased and over the last 3 pairs I have noticed a reduction in build quality weather it is the manufacturer reducing materials to keep cost down or just profits I'm not sure but the insoles are thinner with larger dimples in the underside and in the newest pair the laces are not as good they feel as if the inner core has been reduced..

Scarpa Vortex walking shoes

As described. Seemingly water proof and a neat shoe with a fairly stiff sole which cushions against rocky paths
Would like longer laces

Vortex xcr

I'm now on my 5th pair and am sorry to report a slip in build quality. I live in mine all week using them for work and play. My work involves walking up to 15 miles a day on all surfaces and driving the first 4 pairs stood up to this really well, but the most recent pair have not held up so well. The in sole has compressed and I have had to add another, also the sole does not seem to have stood up quite as well. I will give them one more try before I give another Brand a try.

Great shoes

Super comfy straight out of the box. Worth paying the extra money as Scarpa shoes/boots are the cream of the crop. Not only comfy fitting but really well made. I have the R-Evo Pro GTX boots that are great for trekking & totally waterproof. Disagree with other reviews that boot size is the same as shoe size. Boot fit for me is defo 44 & the Vortex shoe 43.
