Those who love to spend days out on Mountain bikes could enjoy seeing the best in the business in action this weekend, as the Fort William World Cup takes place at the Nevis Range.

With the winter skiing a distant memory, the slopes of Aonach Mor are crossed by a downhill mountain bike trail that descends from over 2,000 ft above sea level, with Saturday (June 4th) seeing various qualifying rounds and Sunday being finals day.

There will also be youth events in addition to senior competitions, offering a chance for up-and-coming talents to show what they can do.

While the Nevis Range will be reserved for competitors this weekend, the course offers facilities those visiting the Lochaber region can enjoy over the summer months, with one of the features being the chance to ascend easily to the top of the track by Gondola cable car.

Visitors can enjoy a new facility this year, as the Pine Marten Cafe Bar has been established at the lower station of the Gondola.
