Those who like to
go walking on the hills should be prepared for the change in the hours this weekend as the clocks go back at 02:00 BST (01:00 GMT) on Sunday (October 30th).
Wasdale Mountain Rescue team has warned that people should be prepared for the impact of this change, as the earlier sunset could catch some of them out as darkness falls by 17:30 GMT.
"Being able to navigate and move in the dark could be the difference between being able to make your own way down and having a cold and wet night on the mountain," the organisation said, advising people to take a torch and spare batteries.
Walkers were also advised to ensure they have
waterproofs, warm clothing and good footwear.
Those keen to ensure they are kitted out for shorter days may wish to get
Ordnance Survey maps and good
walking boots.
To date, the Wasdale team has been called out 66 times this year, a number that may escalate as the more treacherous winter weather comes.
