People who love to go camping are happier than those who do not, a survey has indicated.

The Camping and Caravanning Club has pointed to a collection of 60 studies collated by Liverpool John Moores University called Real Richness - The List, which shows the people who love spending time in tents or caravans have a better life overall.

Among the findings were that 91 per cent of children enjoy being outdoors, while one in three people think a trip to the country is good for weight loss.

Commenting on the news, keen camper and TV personality Ben Fogle said: "For me it definitely chills me out and I find it's a fantastic way to switch off from my manic schedule. I can totally see how camping is great for families too."

Those who may enjoy camping could include people heading to the Glastonbury Festival in June.

Festival organisers have revealed all tickets have now been sold, following a resale yesterday (April 17th) of returned and cancelled places.
