The Cure have been announced as one of the acts for next year's Bestival, which will be held near Newport on the Isle of Wight.

People staying in festival tents will be able to enjoy the band playing at the Robin Hill Park venue at some point between September 8th and 11th.

The group was formed in 1977 and will join arrange of other big-name attractions such as Primal Scream, Crystal Castle and Magnetic Man.

Visitors can camp or stay in camper vans and those looking to add some comfort may wish to get some cosy sleeping bag or bring camping for the early autumn nights.

Meanwhile, those who have been to Oxfordshire's Cornbury Music Festival in past summers will have a new venue for next year.

Having spent the first eight years of its existence at Cornbury Park near Charlbury, it will move to a new site at Great Tew for the 2011 edition, due to take place from July 1st to 3rd.
