Scotland's ski centres have been praising the quality of the wintersports conditions there, with some of the resorts reporting fresh snowfall.

Nevis Range said that extra snow has enhanced conditions "at all levels", while elsewhere in the western highlands, Glencoe spoke of having an "excellent cover of soft new snow" on both its upper and lower runs.

In the eastern highlands, Glen Shee has also reported fresh snow, Cairn Gorm stated that there is "awesome skiing and boarding all over the mountain" and the Lecht commented that among its "wonderful" conditions were many good chances to ski off-piste.

Such news may encourage those thinking of putting on their ski goggles and taking to the Scottish slopes.

According to the Met Office, more snowfall is on the way across Britain, with the north of Scotland in line to receive plenty in the coming days.

The forecast says heavy snow is more likely in the eastern highlands.
