A new mountain biking centre has opened in South Wales, offering a new venue for fans of the sport to enjoy.

The Bryn Bettws Lodge Mountain Bike Centre is located in the Afan Forest Park and is run by the Afan Forest Mountain Bike Trust, Bike Radar reports.

It offers courses for riders of all abilities who want to brush up on their skills, with afternoon refreshers available for £38 and two-day adventures for £149.

Instructor Paul Massey said the location is easily accessible, as visitors can be picked up from Neath or Port Talbot stations.

Describing a weekend at the centre, he remarked: "They can stay at the Lodge, use one of our KHS or Giant bikes, get trained and we'll take them back to the station on Sunday."

Last weekend, Kidsgrove Freeriders Club extended the track at North Shore Mountain Biking club in Staffordshire, the Sentinel reported.

This version of Mountain Biking consists of routes made up of raised trails made from bridges and logs.
