Mountain bike fans may find they have a lot to look forward to next June as the Original Source Mountain Mayhem sportive takes place in Herefordshire.

The event will see 100K and 50K races being held around the Malverns on June 20th 2010, with a 24-hour race the day before, Road CC reports.

It noted that there is a £22 entry fee for the 100K sportive, but said this includes a goody bag with around £21 worth of items in it.

Those who fancy putting on some cycling gear and having a go next summer should be able to sign up online soon, with registration for the 450 available places expected to open before Christmas, the news provider stated.

According to the Mountain Mayhem website, the 2009 event saw 2,351 riders taking part in the 24-hour race, pedalling a combined total of 105,350 miles.

Winner Matt Page then proposed to his girlfriend, whose affirmative answer gave him a double reason to celebrate.
