The BBC are to re-show a programme that features the one place in the Lake District with a ski tow.

Inside Edge will show their production about Raise, the fell near Helvellyn where the Lake District Ski Club is based, at 19:30 GMT on February 15th.

The club said that the recent conditions have been very good for those donning their ski goggles, with plenty of snowfall and more blowing in.

It stated: "We have had some very good skiing and with the weather set cold there will be plenty more to come. [There is] no excuse not to enjoy this great season, get up there."

The club, which has a tow and a club hut, was founded in 1936.

People looking for other places to ski in Cumbria can also consider Yad Moss, near Alston.

The facility has a ski tow capable of taking 600 people per hour up to the top station, which has an altitude of 725 m (2,379 ft).
