Those who like to go outdoors are being offered the chance to enjoy the pastime of geochaching in the Lake District.
On Saturday, March 27th the National Park Authority is staging an introduction to geocaching at its Brockhole Visitor Centre on the banks of Windermere.
Starting at 10:30 GMT and continuing until 14:30, the event will give people the chance to enjoy this novel form of treasure hunting.
Appropriate footwear is recommended, which may make it a good reason to buy some
walking shoes.
Geocaching sees a small container with a message inside being located in a particular vicinity, with clues being given to the whereabouts of each item.
The use of a
walking GPS can help to find the items.
According to the Geochaching.com website, there are a number of caches near Brockhole, at locations such as Orrest Head, Holehird Tarn and Longmire Road just outside the village of Troutbeck.
