The run-up to Christmas might seem a strange time to be thinking about tents and summer music festivals, but fans planning to head to Reading or Leeds at the end of August will now be able to see Eminem among the headline acts.

It is 11 years since the hip-hop artist made his last appearance at the festivals and his visit in 2013 will be his only appearance at such an event in Britain next summer.

Fans undecided which show to go to can see him at either venue, so choosing where to may simply be a matter of convenience - as well as who to share a tent with!

Eminem's appearance on the main stage is not the only headline act already in place, with the Deftones and Alt-J among the other acts already pencilled in.

Next year sees the return of Glastonbury after the ground at Pilton Farm was given 2012 off, but despite tickets selling out within hours of going on sale in October, the line-up is not due to be announced until nearer the event than in past years.
