Fell runners will be donning their
running shoes this weekend as the annual Fellsman race is held in the Yorkshire Dales.
The 60-mile race will start at 09:00 BST on Saturday May 8th in Ingleton, North Yorkshire, with a line-up of 450 runners.
According to Grough, there will be a minute's silence before the start for Tracy Dryden, a frequent contestant in the race who died after being stabbed in March.
The race will include 11,000 ft of ascent, taking in the summits of mountains such as Ingleborough, Whernside, Dodd Fell and Buckden Pike before finishing in Threshfield.
Those planning to take up fell running themselves may wish to visit their nearest Go Outdoors store to pick up some
running clothing.
May will see some major events that could inspire people to run more, one of which is the Great Manchester Run.
Held on May 16th, the race will see over 30,000 participants taking part, from fun runners to world class athletes, while the event will be shown live by the BBC.
