Those heading up to the Nevis Range resort for some skiing this weekend could find hiring equipment a bit tricky as a big turnout is expected.

The arctic conditions have brought plenty of snow cover in the highland resorts and the centre based near Fort William is no exception.

It has advised those turning up and looking to hire skiing equipment that this may be in short supply at the weekend as so many skiers turn up for a day on the pistes, suggesting that people looking to rent it elsewhere before they arrive.

Those who love the sport may wish to purchase men's skiwear or women's skiwear so they can make the most of what could be the coldest winter in decades without having to continually hire out some gear.

Visitors to the Nevis Range may enjoy a bit more than just skiing on January 25th.

The Snowgoose Restaurant & Bar at the top of the Gondola cable car is hosting a special Burn's Day meal from 12:00 GMT to 14:00 GMT, with the traditional piping in and address to the haggis.
