There has been a late change to the festival line-up for Standon Calling as Spiritualized have been forced to cancel their appearance.

Frontman Jason Pierce has been ill and undergoing medical treatment and while this has nearly finished, festival organisers have revealed he is not well enough to perform.

A statement from the band said: "We apologise to everyone who is affected and hope they realise that cancellation was the only unavoidable option given the medical circumstances."

There is no word as yet on any possible replacement, but disappointed fans may hope that Spiritualized will follow the lead of U2 at Glastonbury - after a back injury suffered by Bono forced them to cancel their 2010 appearance - and appear next year instead.

People heading to the event with their tents can still enjoy a range of bands, including Lamb, Battles, Chrome Hoof and John Cooper Clarke.

Standon Calling will be held at Standon Hall in Hertfordshire from August 12th-14th.
