A demonstration against a proposed windfarm that would be located near the Cairngorms National Park is set to take place next week.
The Save the Monadhliath Mountains pressure group is planning to hold a demo outside the Highland Council offices in Inverness, as it continues to fight plans for 31 turbines to be sited at Allt Duine, to the east of the A9 road between Newtownmore and Aviemore, Grough reports.
Former Mountaineering Council of Scotland president Chris Townsend is among those against the plan, noting there are 11 proposals in and around the national park currently under consideration, which could disturb those who
go walking there.
He said: "We're very concerned about the cumulative effect of turbines on the unspoilt landscape of Scotland's largest national park and the potential damage to the area."
The proposed site would lie between the Corbetts of Carn an Feaceadain and Geal-Charn Mor.
To the south-west of this stretch of the range lie three Munros - Carn Sgulain, a'Chailleach and Beinn Dearg.
