Used for 4 years camping at Silverstone... so far!

I bought this tent around 5 years ago to use while camping at the British GP at Silverstone. It's been (and will continue to be) a great tent! It has plenty space and is easy to put up with 2 people.

Hi gear Zenobia Eclipse 6 person

Have taking the tent out for the first time a few weeks back and have to say very pleased with my purchase. Easy and quick to set up and plenty of room for the family. Looking forward to using it again for the bank holiday weekend. would recommend this tent ????

Brilliant tent

We are first time campers. 2 adults and 3 children (13,6&5 yo). We bought this tent rather than the equivalent vango as you got a lot more space for the same money and it had a higher waterproof rating.
Practised putting it up in the garden which was essential and between 2 of us took 30 minutes.
The holiday. Arrived late in the dark (after a 9 hour drive!), in the driving rain and wind in west Wales. Single handedly I managed to get the main body of the tent up in under 15 minutes. Despite this the inside of the tent was dry and bedroom pods took no time. For first time campers this was perfect.

As we were on a budget we didn't buy the porch but I wish we had. The tent was spacious enough for the 5 of us but in the rain it would have made it better. The tent stayed dry in full on rain and wind. We didn't buy the bespoke carpet and ground sheet. Instead bought cheaper smaller ground sheets and used cheap picnic blankets. Worked fine

Can't wait to use the tent again already planning out next (less fat holiday)

Zenobia tent poles

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
Last My wife and I bought a replacement tent for our Vango 600 which we have had for over twenty years. we bought the Zenobia elite 6, for its hydrostatic head, we live in quite a rainy and windy place. Unfortunately the Zenobia elite 6 has 10mm fibre glass tent poles. We have had to up grade to 13mm poles as fibre glass tent to split.
If the fibre glass poles for this tent were wound fibre making them a stronger but still flexible the 10mm poles might handle higher winds.
At Christmas time in the southern hemisphere the winds tent to be quite high 40mph to 70mph, with 13mm wound poles this tent is excellent in these conditions, if Zenobia were to construct their poles of aluminium instead of fibre glass this tent would with stand all the different types of weather the Falklands has to offer campers during the summer season.
all in all a very well constructed tent.
thank you

The tent is fantastic, but a pole snapped on second use and Go Outdoors will not replace

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
The tent it’s self is great! Good size, easy to put up and sturdy construction.
However, on our second use of the tent, one of the pole section split, rendering it useless.
When I phoned to report this and try to fix it, all I was told was that poles are not covered and was told just to buy replacement poles.

Shocking display of service.
Gutted at this is a cracking bit of kit, if it worked!

Zenobia 6

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
We brought ours last year and have had two good holidays in it. We went to Croyde Bay this year. Our pitch overlooked the beach so we had a wonderful view. However, mid week the winds picked up overnight. When you're facing out into the Atlantic ocean, you appreciate the ferocity of the wind. The Zenobia stood it's ground and took everything the Atlantic could throw at it. We also have the porch extension which is, by the way, big enough for our kitchen. That too didn't flinch.
With plenty of space, good design and reliability like this, it deserves more than five stars.

Scout tent

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
Just right for Scouts, plenty of room for 6 and the Scout Master's favourite tent as easy to put up and dry once they're in.

What a whopper!

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
Bought this tent for two hundred quid as we had just binned our old tent.It has a bedroom at both ends, big enough for two or three people. We tried it out soon after buying it with three nights at Castlerigg farm in Keswick. Beautiful location, very wet and windy on one night. The weather stayed outside and we were warm and dry.Have just returned from three nights at Oulton Park for the British Superbikes.By gum it really rains in Cheshire but again we were safe and dry.Looking forward to going away with our daughter and grandson.Like an aircraft hanger with one bedroom but I'm certain there will be enough room for everything with two bedrooms. An incredible bargain,a home from home and it's on offer again at £230.
Easy to put up and easy to live in.
Jump in quick, or pay full price, it's still worth every penny.

Hi gear zen 6 man tent

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
Absolutely love it, easy to put up and although I camped as a child, this is the first time I've had to put a bid tent up and found it really straight forward. Roll on next year.

Zenobia 6

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
We bought this tent when it was on offer at £199 and it is the best money we evet spent even at its full price this tent is worth every penny. Our first outing was to Shell Island in Wales and it was battered by 40 mph winds and driving rain and not one drop of rain got in.The tent is easy to put up and even easier to pack away and also easy to store. It is well ventilated as well so no condensation or damp gets in either. All in all a bargain of a tent which will give us endless fun and top weekends away ...oh and its going to France next year ...Ooo la la lol

Hi Gear Zenobia 6 man tent

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
Just back from 3 nights camping in the lakes, great size for two adults, 2 children and a dog. Looks good, is sturdy and one night in particular it was put to the test, solid 12 hours of rain and at times heavy winds, no leaks. Suffered with condensation when hot but every tent we have had did. Also was so straight forward and quick to put up. Overall brilliant tent for a great price.

great tent

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
brought the zenobia elite last year and i must say its perfect for what we want we are not heavy campers and only go away few weeks a year and only being a family of 2 adult and 2 dogs this tent has been fantastic. my husband is disabled and there is plenty of room inside the tent to keep his mobility scooter the bedroom pod is of a great size when we have camp beds and air bed on top still plenty of room to get dressed in the bedroom. i have 2 large dogs one being a great Dane the tent is absolutely massive we use the tent with just one bedroom pod erected easy to put up and if needed i could quite easily do this on my own we dont have the porch or the carpet so cannot comment but overall i would recommend this tent as i have done to my brother

Excellent value, space & features, flimsy poles

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
We bought one of the first Zeobia 6 tents. It has proved wonderful & spacious for the 2 of us. It definitely needs 2 people to pitch it. For one person it would be a very long job!
Ours has survived 2 camping trips every year & some foul weather which is when the extra space is really welcome. If there were 4 or more of us, I'd definitely also add the porch. The footprint groundsheet is well worth having as it keeps the base of the tent dry & makes it easier & cleaner to pack up. Packing up is easy & the folded tent small & light enough for one person to lift despite shoulder problems & it fits easily on top of all the other camping paraphenalia in our small car.
In all, it is a brilliant tent. Any gripes? Just one.
Every year from year 2 onwards we have had to replace at least one section of the poles, which splinter easily in strong winds. Not a difficult job once you get used to it, but annoying when they break so we carry a roll of gaffer tape which serves as a temporary repair till we get home.

Great tent

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
This tent is amazing, it's perfect. We are a family of 3 now (as our 2 holders ones are off doing their own thing) there is plenty of room and it's easy to pitch up around 25-30 mins and about same for packing away..... We have the porch which we use as a kitchen area, making more room in the living area. We purchased it in 2015 and it's with stood, 60mph winds and torrential downpours. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for a small family ??

Brilliant tent

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
We have had this tent for 5 year's now and use it at least 4 times a year for festivals. Very easy to put up, great space inside enough room to put your table and chairs in the middle bit when the weather turns bad. As with all tents if they say 4 berth 2 fits comfortably, and 6 berth fit 4 unless your very little people which we are not. If we take grandchildren with us we use both bedrooms. If you want you can just put one bedroom up as they go up separately. Then you've got enough room to have a party in its that big. We also have the porch that goes with this tent which is great for kicking dirty boots off. We have been to loads of festivals around the country and this tent always gets comments. We were at one when a hurricane with horrendous downpour hit the camp and we sat and watched as other tents were ripped from the ground and this tent never moved an inch. Creaked and twisted a bit but was still standing. One of our better buys. If your looking for a strong reliable tent I would highly recommended this one.

zenobia elite

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
After much research and trawling through hundreds of product reviews we bought this tent in store with the carpet and footprint,at the time there was a huge markdown on the price so we were very happy. Did a trial run in the garden and put the tent up easily in 30 minutes. the next day on closer inspection noticed a couple of tiny holes in the roof of the fabric so returned the tent for a straight swap .Didn't have time to erect the tent again before our camp trip so went off for the weekend. put the tent up on a flat pitch but noticed one side of the tent seemed a lot higher than the other. At the time we wondered if we had somehow not put it up correctly so just kept that side zipped up as the entrance would have been too high to step over .Loved the space of the tent and it kept us bone dry after a severe downpour. We booked in for another weekend away at the same site. We erected the tent again only to encounter the same problem. A little bit perplexed, on return we decided to take the tent back , where the staff were extremely helpful and pitched it for us in store to see if they could work out the problem. it turns out that the groundsheet had been cut too short so that's why it was pulling too taut up one side. The chap in store said he had never experienced this in all his time there so we were just unlucky I suppose. We wanted an exchange as We do really love the tent but unfortunately they had completely sold out. so had to pay a tiny bit extra and go for the slightly bigger kalahari elite 8. first camping trip this weekend with that one so fingers crossed all will be ok. in summary i loved the look and feel of this tent, the space was great for myself,my husband and our 2 ten year old's and it withstood the rain and wind. it was such a shame we had to return twice and couldn't replace it again. I would actually recommend this tent !

zenobia 6 in gales

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 Tent)
Just back from four nights in bude with hubby &3kids in a zenobia 6. Freak winds for time of year -gusts up to 60mph - tent stood up to being battered for whole break! Amazed it didn't break or blow away! Def recommend this tent and porch for peace of mind. We couldn't go out one day as weather so bad but kids still had space to do stuff inside.
