Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.
Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.
Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.
One of the best pair of boots i've owned, been the only one on may trips with the good dry feet. However like most have also said i've found chunks to break off the soles from time to time and without inner soles they can be a bit sore when walking on rocky terrain for long periods. Would recommend.

Blisters on heel
I’ve had my boots for a good year now I’ve tried everything to make them comfy I’ve changed the padding inside and tried millions of ways to tie them up but no good very disappointed as they cost a load for what they are the heel will always give you blisters if you do a good hike I use mine up the mountains and would not recommend them for comfort there is to give for your toes they always feel like your big toe is being crushed after paying all that money had to go get a cheap pair which are extremely more comfy

Bought these from Go Outdoors and very disappointed. I preferred some very cheap Karrimor boots I had beforehand. Firstly they are very heavy and after a long day in the hills become extremely uncomfortable. For some reason they really hurt my heel and the balls of my feet. I've tried expensive in soles to no effect. Secondly they are also very slippy indeed. Even on slightly damp pavement you don't feel sturdy, so imagine the concern when scrambling on wet rock in exposed areas. The only positives are that they are warm and waterproof so decent in winter conditions.

Don't buy these boots. I made the mistake, looked after them and hardly used them except when winter walks needed. So I find myself after two years with boots like new that leak and Mammut will do nothing. Look at other makes, steer clear.

Vibram soles a let down
The uppers of my boots are like new, lots of life left in them. Unfortunately the Vibram soles have a soft interior and have completely fallen apart. They let down a good boot.

Great boot never leaked but the soles wear out very quickly. Never been in discomfort but would not buy again as price is to high for amount of use i got out of mine.

Honestly, putting these boots on for the first time was like slipping your foot into a padded, velvet slipper. They are by far the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. No rubbing or breaking in required.
Waterproofing is excellent, fully submerged on lake shores and river crossings and my feet were completely dry.
Grippy on wet rock, felt like a mountain goat.
I would highly recommend these boots.

These boots are fantastic. I would buy again but....
on a low walk one of the eyelets snapped off so i took them back to the shop. It is Mammuts policy to repair instead of replace. The boots have done no more than 50 miles so I expected them to be examined an replaced but no. They repaired them all i can say is the local butcher cant be busy at the time. I refused the boots. Watch this space. Apart from the service brilliant boot

Unbelievable boot for me
previous boots were salomon 3d gtx and I found them very comfortable but they failed me in waterproofing and the sole came away.
Moved onto the Mammuts and was concerned I wouldn't find anything as comfortable as the fabric salomon with the durability of leather...how wrong was I, I had a bit of an ache within the first 20 miles and since then they have just been like an extension to my foot, I can keep them on all day long even after getting back from a walk.
They are very rigid and people talk about getting feedback from the ground which I think you will feel very little of from these boots, I always feel happy there is good mechanical grip on all surfaces though. I also get a feeling of durability with the rigidity of them
waterproofing is second to non as well, I spend most of my days walking through boggy wet land in the trough of bowland with water regularly over the toe and never had a drop make it's way in
really happy with these

I needed these boots for walking in Italy and they have been perfect. They are so comfortable and have been very waterproof anytime it rained. Would definitely recommend to others.

Bought these early this year to replace old leather north ridge boots as these fell apart. I've done 55 Ten Tors and Gold DofE since and was very surprised to have dry feet at the end of Ten Tors, shows how water tight these boots are. Only downside is the white leather inside is a pain to keep clean but really the only down side on these boots.

Mammut Brecon GTX
Agree with Lone Walker - have always had and loved the Raichle Mammut boots, the boots that 'want to walk' and because of name changes and branding it's always difficult to find replacements when they wear out [and they do wear out, the modern versions sooner than they should, always with the sole coming away from the boot - but given that they are a dream to wear even this is forgiveable - will price up a re-sole next time] - what is not forgiveable is skimping on quality for an expensive boot. I bought some Brecons as they seemed to be a replacement for previous boots at an ok price - bought them in January and returned them before the end of the month - walking through light slushy snow, not even over the top of the boot, they leaked and I had wet toes within a couple of hours, no sign of where the water was getting in, had to be through the rubber welding between sole and upper - was pining so much that I had to try again and now have the Mammut Men's MT Trail XT GTX Mountain Boots - they are the real McCoy and even have a Raichle marking as well as the Mammut - worth paying for the right product - I have my boots back - really pleased I didnt' just accept a replacement Brecon...

Mammut Brecon Boots
Bought on reputation as follow on from Reichle. Sole broke up, chunks, quite large came off. Rubber on sole seemed soft compared to other Vibram units from the past. Goretex liner wore through at toe. Leakage then happened. Used on walks in Lake District, Snowdonia, Peak District, Cyprus. Use them a lot. Effectively worn out in 8 1/2 months. Suggest quality of boots compared to older traditional heavier non Goretex is poor. GO gave a partial refund. Hopefully other Mammut boots of better quality?

Fantastic pair of boots
I've had a pair of cheap Karrimor boots for 12 months and they recently fell apart so I thought as I'm walking more now I'll put my hand in my pocket and buy a decent pair of boots!
These are definitely decent. They fit right out of the box and after several days wearing them around the house I took them for a 5hour womble around Dovedale and up Thorp Cloud.
The boots performed excellently offering loads of support on rough terrain and the flats too. They were 100% waterproof when walking in the river a little way and also in the rain we had which I was bit dubious about as they are brushed suede leather, not the smooth leather I'd have preferred.
On grass, mud and dry rocks these gripped really well. It got a bit interesting after the rain on the rocks as the boots did slip a bit however the rocks were VERY polished to the point it looked like ice so I doubt many boots would have gripped.
1star removed for 2 reasons 1. Not smooth leather which I wanted but they are waterproof due to waxed suede and gore-tex liner and 2. Not very grippy on flat rocks when wet.
Overall though a fantastic boot and I'd recommend these boots to anyone.

Poor Vibram Soles
I've had these boots for almost 2 years I've found them extremely comfortable and the uppers are totally waterproof (excellent upper). Unfortunately the Vibram sole is awful, I feel the wear is excessive compared to other boots owned (previously scarpa's with vibram soles which were much better). If you intend using these boots for their intended purpose the vibram sole offers poor grip levels in any wet terrain.

Not Overly Durable
Purchased a pair in July 2014. A patch of the sole of right boot just below the rand has split away after 640 miles of use. Remaining rubber under tip of toe is about 1mm thick. Grip was not the best, particularly on wet ground of which there is no shortage in the N Pennine and Dales.

Reviewed these boots last year, absolutely fine for my hikes in Suffolk.
Keep my feet dry and comfortable all day , can walk through soaked grass puddle after puddle. Even fording streams, my feet stay dry.
BUT....Unfortunately as a previous review mentioned, the soles slip terribly on rock.
I just cant trust them on rocks , such as lake district areas.
I have a pair of leaky Karrimor boots with similar but slightly softer Vibram sole , but they grip brilliantly and I have complete faith in them.
Id rather have wet feet and grip ,than have dry feet and slip everywhere.
