A spacious, sturdy and comfortable steel-poled tent with a large sheltered area, for luxurious camping with friends and family.
Made for comfortable family camping, The Hi Gear Oasis Eclipse 8 is a very large multi-roomed tent with spacious removeable bedrooms, a massive living/storage area, large panoramic windows and easy access in or out from the large front door and hooded side entrance.
Hi Gear 'Eclipse' bedrooms use light-blocking fabric so you get a better, longer night's sleep - no more unwanted early mornings because of the bright dawn light!
Large panoramic windows - with roll up curtains and mesh venting - let plenty of light in and give you a great view out, and they can close at night or in poor weather.
The versatile multiple bedrooms can be removed for extra living or storage space, making the Oasis Eclipse 8 ideal as a base tent for an outdoor event as well as for your family holiday.
The large sheltered front area provides shelter from sun or rain, with ample space for your bikes or furniture. (You can extend this sheltered space by adding on the Oasis Elite 8 Porch, available separately)
Darkened 'Eclipse' bedrooms for a more restful sleeping environment
Spacious living area, panoramic windows
Strong steel poles keep tent stable in windy conditions
Comes in 'Easy Pack' tent bag
Simple to pitch, with fully sewn-in groundsheet and pre-attached guylines
We bought this tent this summer and it’s brilliant. The black out rooms are great for getting small children to sleep on sunny evenings. We probably didn’t need an 8 man tent for 5 people but I’m sure the children will grow into it! Lee at the Shrewsbury store was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

This tent last 15 months before the main covering ripped like tissue paper. When we took it into the Go Outdoors store in Exeter, we were told it was out of warranty, and so tough luck! We also called Go Outdoors customer services and got the same lack of help, This tent is supposed to last a good few years, and it didn't. Buyer beware - these tents only have 12 months warranty, which makes for an expensive 'disposable' tent. Due to this experience, I would not recommend this tent or Go Outdoors.

Oasis 8 eclipse review
Can't fault it so far just got back from a weekend away in wales easily set up and packed away just as easy.
Loads of space for the whole family to live in and the blackout bedrooms are spot on.
I couldn't find this tent anywhere but i rang the chester store and spoke to the store manager (simon) who had one in as a customer return he told me they didn't know what was wrong with it and let me have it for less, but if i found anything wrong to let him know asap and he would deal with it the best he could even if it meant a full refund or a tent swap.
I pitched the tent and it was fine i found the side door pole was missing and the repair kit so he gave me a new pole and kit plus a pack of seam tape and while i was there i spotted the carpet for it that i also couldn't get hold of and because it had been out and used in the display tent he also did a mega discount on that which is amazing value.
I can't thank simon enough for the way he dealt with us and we are happy to spend and spend in your stores because we think they are brilliant.

Just got back from our first trip with the new tent. Was surprised how quick and easy it was to put up and pack away at the end of the trip.
The tent really is huge, it looked big in the tented village but got it our on site and it's massive. Plenty of room for all the family plus table and chairs.
Craig from the Harlow store showed us round many different tents and this one in the end sold its self to us. Looking forward now to our next adventure.

Really pleased with this tent. Used it for two trips now, the latest being a very windy site near the Solent! Tent held well, only slight negative was the draught coming through the side door, but not really a problem! Would def recommend this tent.

Oasis 8 eclipse first outing / fab
We (2 adults / 2 kids, 14 & 10) Had our first outing in the new tent (wedding present) last week in Stirling with friends
1 - easy to put up in 25 mins (once we’d slackened the wee pin tensioners off)
2 - loads of space
3 - dark bedrooms meant longer lies
Only 1 negative is the vents you can’t close at the side storm door makes it cold at night - will find a remedy to this for future nights away
Overall though as a newby to camping we loved it & look forward to many more trips

Good tent, but needs thought on the vents
Had a week away on a sloping site in Dorset with the oasis elite 8 (previous version, go outdoors have renamed it)
Good: 1) lots of room, ideal for the kids
2) fitting the frontier 8 porch on the front made it fully enclosed
3) stood up well to quite blustery weather
4) lots of headroom a real bonus
1) it got cold at night. As others have said, the vents on the side and rear can't be shut, so we will be adding some Velcro to do this
2) the supplied pegs are rubbish in windy weather (invest in further, good pegs)
3) the carpet didn't stay put on the slope as there is no way to attach it. Again, double sided Velcro on the way

We was told our tent is more of a wedding venue!
We’ve used this tent for the first time this week having upgraded from the zenobia 6. We had some struggles getting it up. It was very windy and took us and our son to try to get it up! In fact it took us over 2 hours to get it up and pegged as it kept getting caught in the wind! We also have the front canopy which added even more space and an enclosed front.
Not gonna lie though, was totally worth the time! The tent is huge! There is 5 of us and a puppy. We only had 2 of the rooms up and the end for storage. In the big one we had a double bed and bunk beds comfortably. The darkened rooms are brill for lie ins and the kids even slept in longer than normal!
We have the carpet which is a huge difference underfoot. The front is even bigger with the canopy on.
In our tent we had dog crate, inflatable sofa, table and stools and still plenty of room! We’re very happy with this tent and the owner of the campsite said it’s not a tent it’s more of a wedding venue!!!

Lovely and spacious
Before buying this tent I recommend you think about whether that this size tent is really what you need. It comes in two bags and the steel poles weigh a lot when all together in the one bag.
This such a spacious tent once erected. The description mentions it's ok in stormy conditions. That's only when you have it up, you may struggle a little when actually putting the tent up however if you put it correctly then you will not struggle as much.
I recommend not following the video for the 6 berth version as the 8 birth is wider and thus feels like it will an absolute struggle.
I start by putting all the cross bars in. Remember to push and not pull, if it snags then find where it did and straighten out the sleeve, otherwise you will ruin it. Then I put loosen all the pins as much as possible. I put the front legs in, pin the and lift it up and using better pegs than the ones you get (I recommend rock pegs) I peg the two front webbing which I will adjust later. Then I put the back two legs in and pin these (on you tube there is a guy who has a video that shows the best way to pin legs that you are struggling with) I then peg down the back two webbing. Then just leaves the middle two legs to attached and then pin. I find this way much easier to deal with and don't feel the tent is going to balloon away.
The blackout bedrooms are really just that.
Packing away I just do everything in reverse. The bag for the tent is a fold over one so you don't have to worry too much about getting it really tight to fit inside a bag.

Brought this tent as an upgrade from my kalahari 10. Love it. Wasn’t disappointed at all. Can put it up and take it down on my own and only takes 40 minutes adding the canopy or porch obviously a little bit longer.
Loads of room inside for those typical English summer days.
Brought as a bundle with the porch, footprint and Capet. Worth every penny.

(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Oasis Elite 8 Family Tent)
although the oasis 8 is a great tent, we have the original ( the 6.00HH ) and this new supposed upgrade is defo not that. in comparison the new elite feels flimsy and cheap compared to the original. if you want the oasis 8 try and find one of the originals for sale somewhere and purchase one of those instead.

Great family tent
(Review for older model of this tent - Hi Gear Oasis Elite 8 Family Tent)
Upgraded from our 6 man vango to this new tent. Was fairly straight forward to put up. Only issue I had is that I normally do the bedrooms while.my husband does the guy lines but I'm too short to do the bed rooms. Was so spacious for 3 of us and I loved the extra space the canopy gives you. We went away for 3 nights as a practice run before our 2 week summer camping trip. Can't wait to use it again.

Re: Oasis Elite 8
I brought this tent on the bundle offer from your Castle Bromwich store on the 17th June 2017. After saving for months to upgrade to this model as we were going on our only family holiday in July for this year, myself wife and our 2 children.
On arrival at our campsite we were excited to pitch up, however this excitement soon changed to heartache as we found the following faults
When setting up not enough pegs for all tent and porch canopy extension
Tent very unsteady in high winds even though adjusting guide ropes and straps daily
Air vents above side door and master bedroom need have option to be closed we awoke freezing as directly above us does not keep heat in kids were cold too
Carpet needs Velcro to secure to much movement and slips
Light too close to master bedroom pod needs to be central in tent
When set up found small hole in roof main tent had repair with kit also got snags in netting on door and windows master bedroom has marks on too
Tent was then leaking water through the vents as an outcome myself and my wife had to move our bed out from master bedroom into living area as our quilt was sodden .
As a result of all these faults we had to make the decision to end our holiday early as it was too unbearable to sleep and stay in. We are very disheartened as we had to explain to our children that we needed to go home. From this experience it has put myself and my wife off camping we previously owned the fronteria 8 tent which was a fantastic tent our friends also had the oasis 8 original hence why we wanted to upgrade to the elite, we are so shocked at how much of an down grade this model is compared to previous models of the Hi gear family tents, this in our opinion is not superior HI GEAR SHOULD HAVE NEVER DISCOUNITUED THE FRONTERIA !!!!
