Length of Recording

I am pleased with most aspects of the Camera but i am having problems recording more than 30 minutes on Video. I would be grateful for any advice.

Go for the other option!

I kick myself for not buying the other well known option from the start. This is an OK bit of kit but you are very very limited with what you can do with the images and video. App is rubbish!!!

Waste of money

The adage “you get what you pay for” lies true with this (tongue in cheek) ‘Action Camera’ £200 down to £39 for a reason? It’s total rubbish! If I could return this ‘Gift’ I would, without hesitation!

Good camera but WiFi not usable.

The oex equinox app was released in 2016 and is no longer supported. The android app won't connect to the camera rendering the WiFi feature totally useless... A pity, WiFi = false advertising!!!

Easy to use

Very easy to set up and wifi only takes seconds to connect (must be connected to in wifi connection ) great quality picture and video and holds its own next to a gopro only negative us battery life.

User friendly

Connects to my Samsung S7 when done correctly.
Too many bad reviews for not connecting by people that might be doing it wrong.
All works fine to me.

Equinox camera

Do not recommend fully charged all setting set up. And the first time using it on record turns off after 50 seconds and stops recording there is no sound quality so will not pick up your voice when outside. The screen quality is very poor but when playing it back it looks good quality. When removing the ad card to upload on pc it will only play about 30 seconds of the video. And a pop up says unable to play don't waste your money on this product

Chops up video, poor battery life and not great waterproofing

Reading other reviews here I must have bought a rogue camera. Menu very easy to use and set up, and took some great time lapse videos but..... The first time I used it properly, an hour fast trek up a local valley all seemed ok. Freshly charged and set up for 720 and 60 fps as this would supposedly give me 1.15 hours recording. When downloaded the video had recorded for 15 mins and restarted 4 secs later on 2 occasions. I stopped it at my half way point at about 33 mins and restarted it for the run back but only worked for 53 secs before completely stopping so all together I got 34 minutes recording. other than light rain I haven't used it underwater but I wouldn't be happy relying on the SD/USB cover to keep water out long. I enquired about both a waterproof case and software (for windows), neither of which are available. Not overly impressed and it will be going back this afternoon.

Good little camera

Let's make one thing clear right away this is not a GoPro, this is a medium priced action camera.

You are getting great value for your money with this camera, clear detailed video and crisp sharp stills. Plenty of options to choose from and if you select a lower quality your not going to get high quality out. It flimsy up the 4k but 1080p will be more than enough for most, I find it's better on 60fps than 30fps. Stills are again adjustable up to 16mp again if you pick a low quality setting expect low quality!

Navigation is very simple with its 3 button design and screens are pleasantly laid out.

If it's so great why not 5 stars I here you ask, the audio let's this down. I know audio on action camera isn't great but this isnt even good, I use it mostly with audio recorder turned off.

This camera had lots of features and you can't go wrong with the price.

I've had a look at the camera (Inc footage on my YouTube channel)

Not Happy - not waterproof

I purchased this camera to use for kayaking on lake Coniston next month when we go on holiday. I'm not confident to taking my Nikon D4S on the water with me. I thought this would be a good way of recording our trips on the water and whilst on the bikes. As I'm probably not going to use this type of action camera on a daily basis away from holiday I didn't want to spend lots of money on a GoPro.

When I got it home I opened it up, charged it, read the manual then had a play. its easy to use and the menu is straightforward and uncomplicated.

I was happy so far. The video isn't the greatest quality and neither are the still photos, I have seen better quality but on more expensive cameras but I could live with that for the price.

Then I thought I would test it in water, just to make sure its ok, I didn't want to get up to the Lakes to find it didn't deliver the goods. I duly tightened up the microphone cover and put it in a bowl of clean water, no deeper the 6 inches. Not quite the 5m as advertised but I dont intend taking it snorkeling so it was just a dip test

At first it seemed to be ok, i put it in the water while it was switched on and I left it submersed for no more than 10-15 seconds. When I took it out it was still working so I thought it had passed the test. I was wrong. I took it out of its box about 30 mins later to show my daughter my new toy, switched it on and started to make a video, I noticed the screen on the back was very misty as if it had condensation. I continued to video for a few seconds, The quality was awful, there were no features that could be made out, just a foggy mess. Water had obviously got inside.

I double checked the microphone cover and it was shut tight then I looked at the cover on the side of the camera. When I removed it I could see droplets of water inside next to the sd card and USB input I played back the video on my computer and again, it was awful, you couldn't make anything out.

On closer inspection I noticed the USB/SD card cover doesn't quite fit on the camera properly, a slight shake of the camera and you can hear it rattle. That is where the water got inside the camera.

I am hoping that this is just a problem with the one I have purchased and I will be taking it back to the store in Derby today to exchange. If the same cover rattles then I will ask for my money back as its not fit for my purpose. Luckily I videoed me putting it in the water and its plain to see I confirmed the microphone cover was closed.

If you are not going to use it in water, then you should be ok.

Cracking for the Cash

Excellent little camera for the money. Does everything that the more expensive cameras on the market do at the fraction of the cost. Video quality its excellent and the camera is both well built and easy to use.

Only downsides i can fine are the audio quality (Rarely used in this type of camera anyway so nothing to worry about) and the battery life. Battery life is especially bad when using the WIFI feature. But again for the money i can live with this just means i need to charge it more often!

4k camera

Bought this camera for my stag do doing quad trecking and paintballing. Brilliant. Battery life isnt great but easily chargeable on any usb port. Was considering go pro but for a fraction if the price absolutly amazing. Waterproof really is good as checked to see if worked. 1080p is really good enough and is quality. App is really easy to use.

Great camera

I bought this little camera to capture video from my latest holiday to Scotland. After spending a little time setting it up and upgrading the memory card I headed north. Although it's a 4k camera and having a 4k TV at home I find the 1080p 30fps works brilliantly for uploading on to YouTube and don't record much in 4k.

I've cycled everything from slow steady trails to the red routes at a few of the 7 Stanes in Scotland and the camera copes with the speed and change of light brilliantly....even the motion capture works really well.I haven't used the helmet mount as the handle bar mount is super tough and doesn't move once set up right. A proper alternative to the GoPro at a fraction if the cost !
