Men's Footwear Size Guide

Measuring tips

Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.

Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.

Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.

Hi Gear Leather Boots

Bought these as cheap waterproof dog walking boots, and so far been very comfortable each time up to 3 hours in mix of terrain albeit not full on climbing.
A few scuffs appeared on the leather during the first month but i expected that with my usage, mainly woodland walking but includes some steep hillsides with gravel / tree roots etc, also muddy grassy fields and tarmac lanes.
I am sure they will clean up when i retreat them and it has not affected performance as they remain waterproof which is the main thing for me as historically gortex boots seem to fair badly for this over time on my walks.
Not as fashionable a design as some other brands and the soles seem a bit slippy on wet rock / leaves on pavements but i already have big brand hiking boots for full on mountain climbing so as mentioned these are for me just daily dog walking boots, for the price (i got them during a sale offer) they are perfect.

Great boots.

Sturdy and smart looking boots which are comfortable to wear.

Poor quality

The tongues started to break up after one drip and letting rain in. Also the adjective at the front of one boot started to come away and letting in rain.

Poor welt

Welt failed on both boots in under 12 months. Not heavily used either!

Bought these boots 6 months back and they are splitting and cracking in several places.
On the shelf they are described as ' our cheapest leather boots' and that is why I bought them.
Quite comfortable and I was happy with them until they started to split.
Looking closely at the label inside it states man made upper!!
Should have checked when buying.
Not recommended.

Good boots small price

Good boots which lasted me 18 months of hard regular use. However you need to spend another £5 to get the discount card and I had to find another £4 for new laces as the ones provided were rubbish. That said when these are done for I will buy the same again.

Not very good

Boots were okay at first but after about 5 mile walk my feet started to hurt bad. They are fully waterproof and would be okay for short walks only.

Great value

These boots are incredible value. Waterproof (so far and I have walked 57 miles in them in mixed weather and terrain), comfortable and not terribly heavy. I normally take a size 11 but after trying them on in the shop I went for a 12. Have I worn more comfortable boots? Yes. I have I had lighter boots? Yes. Do I think these will last a long time? No. But I paid £35 for them. Come on? What do you expect for that kind of money. Easily worth double the price. Great for dog walking and the occasional mountain walk.
