Not Fit for Purpose

attempted to put up, couldn't work out the ground sheet, gave up on that. Attempted to get the porch to stick to our tent, it kept falling off. Attempted to get it to stay and all it did was buckle the front of our tent. We managed to bodge something together to get it to be of some use. Messaged Go Outdoors, who advised me to go into branch to see how they get it to attach. Cant see it being much use but what choice have I got.

Amazing

We are currently on holiday camping and we are sat in 122km per gust and the cirrus 6 tent and porch which this is the 3rd we have been on holiday with this tent, and we can't believe it's still still standing in these weather conditions! This is an amazing product, and the fact we had the airgo pump to inflate it before all this wind was amazing, the employee Jon of go outdoor in Harlow Essex did an amazing job by helping us with the pump!!
We are sad read these bad reviews on this tent and and porch, because it's still standing!!

Porch doesn't attach

Just come back from a week's holiday in Cornwall and after two attempts couldn't get this porch to stay attached. The design is ridiculous and supposed to attach with an elasticated section and a couple of ropes. Obviously it kept slipping off. Made for a miserable experience as we four had to squash everything into the tent as it rained pretty much non-stop. Just took it back to Chatham store and they offered me a 'conversion kit' - which is even more ridiculous - two plastic clips attached to ropes. Refused to accept and will contact trading standards as this DOESN'T WORK.

Cirrus 6 porch

Bought 6 man tent for myself and children to go camping for the first time, bought tent on a bundle basis which was definitely not cheap. Arrived at campsite with slight breeze. Main tent went up no problem but when it came to inflating porch it took 3 families and a extra 5 hours to put it up and to make sure the breeze didn't blow it off. It bent the main tent beam down with the weight of the porch. Also the two side entrances in the main tent were not usable because the straps have to go across the main tent to keep it up. If you want to buy the airgo cirrus 6 main tent then great but do not buy the porch unless the manufacturers can sort it out. Awaiting reply from the place where bought it so they can send me a kit for porch whilst I'm still on holiday.

Unfit for purpose

I bought the tent and Porch plus a few hundred pounds worth of camping gear late last year. I only got my first chance to use the Porch this weekend. It is very poor fitting and comes away from the tent in the weakest of breezes. It also put extra strain on the front leg of the tent bending it totally out of shape. So much so that I had to take down the porch for fear of it breaking the tent leg. Not ideal when you have a 6 man tent and a family of 6 confined to the small area of the tent in pouring rain! I bought the Porch as we have a large family and require/need the extra space that the porch gives but what I have actually bought is nothing more than a piece of expensive cloth.

Cirrus 6

Loved the look of this tent but in reality it is not fit for purpose. The tent on its own was fine but with the porch totally useless. Sorry can't recommend if buying it with the porch as the porch (even with conversion kit) does not stay attached to tent

Caution

Just got back from our first trip using the Cirrus 6 with porch. The porch didn't stay attached to the tent and caused the front air beam to kink so we've had to return the tent for repair which may take a month! Also there is no clear instructions for joining the groundsheet to the sides so when it rained everything in the porch got soaked. I've now been given an additional fixing kit but can't try it out until we get the tent back. If our next holiday is similarly affected I'll expect a full refund for both tent and porch. So if you need a tent with porch make sure AirGo have made a much better fix for the problem before you buy.

Awful - stay clear it's ruined our tent!

We bought the tent 2 years ago and love it but have been thinking about getting the porch for a long time. Eventually took the plunge when saw the "fix" had apparently been fixed with the kit. It's not!!!! First time used it blew off the beam in the night and then had to tighten so much it's bent one of the tent air beams. Just taken away for a second outing and straight away bent the beam on tent again so now it's permanently like that. Taken the porch off and will be heading to go outdoors as soon as we can for a full refund and an option for fixing the now broken beam on tent. Stay away! Come on go outdoors you have had this problem for 2 years and still not found a resolution!!!!

Could have been alot better

Brought the porch knowing about the issues but waited for the kit, tried twice earlier in the year but despite kit had to take down the porch if the wind was over 20mph, Tried again last week but i have replaced the kit with six better grips which attach to more points around the edge then onto the guyline attachments, stood up well last week in 35+mph winds.
Ground sheet is not great and fiddly to fit around the tent as others state a trip hazard, lack of any blinds or curtains also make it a bit of a greenhouse which is nice on cold but sunny mornings, not so great when the day warms up.
Would i buy it if i could go back knowing what i know now, NO, however It now works with a bit of thought applied like the other one here who didn`t give up on an expensive extra

Stay clear

Used this porch for the 1 st time this weekend to find that its very hard to fit over the beam without bucking the main tent itself. Very poorly designed also has no sep pump or tells u what to pump it up too. The "wind pack" that is supposed to hold it on in high winds is poor it still comes off even in mild wind. Also it also holds alot of condensation as theres no vent at all. Stay away from this porch and the tent, both are poor i have emailed to complain about my tent leaking on air beam for yet the 2 nd time so i will be getting a full refund this time... very poor.

Porch rubbish and doesn't fix onto tent well enough

Used this tent for the first time at the weekend with the additional porch. Porch came off during the evening, the way the porch joins the main tent is really poorly designed. I've found out today that Airgo have had complaints so they have developed a conversion kit to help secure the porch on.......

This again is a poor design because the guide ropes come across the side doors meaning you wouldn't be able to use them.

In fairness to the store they put the porch on the tent so I could see for myself..... I decided I couldn't live with this poorly designed conversion kit which seems like an after thought and the store gave me a refund.

Steer clear of this tent and porch - RUBBISH design in terms of porch fixing to the tent EVEN with the conversion kit….

Porch adapted

Purchased this after much research about the new Kit and only finding one porch up to view in Go Outdoors in Nottingham
My local store Swansea had to look through 4 on the purchase floor and then had to look in their warehouse before finding one with the new Kit in
Took it home and put it up with the tent, difficult to fit due to my lack of height, I'm 5 foot 4, need to unzip side doors to be able to stand half in half out of tent to reach. But the doors open means the front airbeam buckles as you pull the extra weight over
The first night was slightly windy but nothing aggressive - got up next day to find the peg holding the tightening strap to floor had pulled out and one side of the porch full of water where it attached to the main tent. On the left hand side there is Velcro that goes around the pole of the door canopy and this had pulled off and rain had run down front of main tent into the porch
The ground sheet is a major trip hazard as you step into main tent as its meant to sit up into a basin
Second night the peg on the other side had pulled out ( difficult to get a good angle without pulling the side of the porch out allowing rain to blow in the side) and the clip holding the new kit on had slipped off the one side, your meant to double over the edge of the porch but this looks awful and it still pulls off with how tight you have to pull the guy rope to keep the porch on the tent
Anyway not being a person that gives up on a £349 purchase by taking it back I have now spent another £20 and the tightening straps have nice solid rock pegs in , The kit straps taken back off and a permenant fix of poppered straps to the top of the porch so they can't slip off ( these are over the top of main tent so no water leakage ). Both sides of porch poppered to the extra material over the side door zips of main tent so again not puncturing any canvas of main tent. I have also tucked the ground sheet under the main tent and added extra eyelets for the main tent pegs no more trip hazard
Porch has now been up for a week in high winds and heavy rain and hasn't moved or leaked at all now looking at making window covers as there are none in the porch ( there are in main tent )
Come on Higear sort a redesign out if I can do it , so can you make these porches fit for purpose for the money spent
Positives are this porch is huge , plenty of light from the all around Windows during the day and as its a basin groundsheet its very warm with no drafts now it doesn't blow off

Instructions poor

Instructions are poor. Nothing mentioned about groundsheet and what the 2 holes are for - even shop did not know. More importantly instructions state inflate porch to 7.5 psi but the tent is 5.5 psi and the pump cuts off at 5.5 to stop over inflation....are you expected to buy a separate pump for porch? Shop had not noticed different psi (swansea).

do not buy this

we waited a year to buy cirrus 6 tent because we need the porch for xtra space. Bought both in April. This porch is badly designed and does not stay attached to the tent even without wind. There are no straps to go over tent to secure and the whole structure is expected to be secured by an elastic edge over the first beam of the tent.... Just kept slipping off! Even the store could not get it to stay on without pulling it over on the right side by about 10 inch thus obscuring the door! The left side cannot be pulled over this far due to the rain porch. We returned this to the store for a full refund of both porch & tent.

Bad design

This is really badly designed. It doesn't have a piece that fits over the tent like most tent awnings instead it folds over the air beam. It was a little windy and the awning kept falling off the tent and pulling the front of the tent down causing the air beam to bend. We took the awning down on the second day because I was afraid it would fall off and damage the tent when we wasn't there. Thankfully the staff in Swansea were fab and I had a full refund. The only good thing is the size but no good if it won't stay up.
