Men's Footwear Size Guide

Measuring tips

Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.

Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.

Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.

Not the best soles

Purchased in Jan 19 and have only been used for daily wear a few times a week.

The back of the soles have worn down very quickly and have holes which are letting in water every time it rains.

sole starting to swelch on every step :(

Unlike a friends boots (exactly same brand) where the stitching by the toe has started to break and leave a gaping hole, my stitching is okay, but the sole on both feet has started to come apart and on EVERY footstep makes a horrible loud swelching noise. thankfully i wear earphones when walking so don't hear the noise. my boots were purchased 10 months back and only had usage from Feb to May and then Sept to date - so a handful of times over this period.
poor quality and poor construction. i am tempted to ask for them to be examined as being defective, but i expect they will dismiss any claims.
will probably buy a decent pair of boots elsewhere.

Hi gear snowdon walking boots

Went to buy some walking boots for around the doors instead of wearing my normal mountain boots as they are quite hard and more for hill walking, tried a few pair on and decided on the hi gear snowdons as I needed a wide fitting boot, they have taken no wearing in, straight out of the box and away, a walk between 3 and 6 miles 3/4 times a week with a chubby baby on my back, they provide excellent support and comfort with good cushioning over all of the terrain I encounter, a good amount of grip even on wet muddy slopes and completely waterproof so far even when entirely submerged, after a few good walks they are like slippers and can be worn all day in complete comfort, the price is around what I wanted to pay but the quality makes the boot feel more expensive, only down side is the cheap laces, one snapped as soon as I put the boot on but for the price of a new pair it wasn't worth grumbling about, would definitely buy again.

cheap boots

i normally buy boots around £200 but i thought that i would try these since i can have four pairs for that price.
big mistake, boots have stretched a mile, heel has worn through, soles are thin. i have only walked about 250 miles mostly on dry decent mixed terrain and these boots are wrecked.
unfortunately it appears that you get what you pay for

Split stitching

Had these for eighteen months walking five miles a day and the stitching near to where your big toes are located have split compromising the water proofing capabilities. unfortunate because the soles are hardly showing any wear. Some may say for the price it's not had wear?

Would pay more

These boots I bought for my son who was on a hiking expedition. Rained all weekend but his boots kept his feet nice and dry and warm too. No rubbing great advice from the helpful staff.

Snowdon men's hiking boots

Fantastic!! The price is more than good enough the quality is perfect. My husband's a fussy person when it comes to shoes however he loves these. They are so comfy and offer a lot of ankle support which is a must for someone who likes to cycle everywhere and the material is durable. They keep his feet both warm and dry and haven't given him a single blister. Highly recommended absolute bargain for what you're getting!!

Nice, comfortable boots. I do around 6 km every day and am very confident in recommending them to all.

great starter boot, had about 100 hours in them and time to replace, only problem for me, is stood at an obtuse angle, flat surface fine, any angle is likely to lead to back trouble.

Walking Boots

So far, so good, especially as they were very good value for money and my walking is restricted to relatively low level hikes rather than steep and rocky hill climbs. To date they have been robust and comfortable and have given good support.

Good boots

Bought these about 2 weeks ago, they were a bit tight to begin with (as expected) but very quickly became incredibly comfortable.
Would recommend these highly

leather hiking boots hi tech

Got these a few weeks ago for my son , still in the breaking in phase, but they seem to be very comfortable, without any problems. I got these as they are wide fitting, and suit my son’s wide feet!! I hope they are as durable as the last pair of my boots (lowa /army boots ) I had, which I've simply worn out the soles, after miles, mountains, and many years of hard use. All my friends buy expensive boots, and have nothing but trouble with them, not my army ones, so I'm gonna stick with the great price ones that do exactly what they say they do with no fuss . Fingers crossed these last a few years, up to now, they seem to be great, and might even get my self a pair...

Comfy boots

Got these a couple of weeks ago, still in the breaking in phase, but they seem to be very comfortable, without any problems. I got these as they are wide fitting, and suit my wide feet!! I hope they are as durable as the last pair of boots (Hi - tec) I had, which I've simply worn out the soles, after many miles, many mountains, and many years of hard use. All my friends buy expensive boots, and have nothing but trouble with them, so I'm gonna stick with the cheap and cheerful ones. Fingers crossed these last a few years, but up to now, they seem to be great...

good price, but now squeaking

bought these in december/january.
first hike was a 10 miler and they felt great. really impressed.
have since used about 10 times for a 20-30 minute dog walk.
the right boot has started squeaking really badly - a loud squeak on each step - very annoying. not sure if its the leather or the sole.
i've cleaned them well whenever they got dirty.
i am sure that they will last, but think they will go in the bin before they get worn out due to the squeek.
even more annoyingly is that i've lost the receipt. i paid on credit card but not sure if that will count as proof of purchase in store?
