Kinesix™ is an alternative to the usual manual operation and therefore is much easier to operate if you are wearing gloves or undertaking strenuous activity. Inspired by Kinesics (the interpretation of the body’s motion) this technology allows you to cycle through the modes on the head torch without directly touching it. By swiping your hand from left to right 3cm from the light you can adjust lighting modes and move from red light to normal light.

Reax™ is a reactive light technology that automatically adjusts the beam of the head torch to the environment it needs to illuminate and the needs of the user.

Hold down on/off button for 4 seconds to switch to REAX™ auto adjustment mode.

When REAX™ mode is active you are free to roam, while the smart sensor automatically adjusts to the lighting needs.
When focusing on items at a close proximity, lumens will decrease and the beam will have a flooding effect to increase visibility.
When on the move, the beam is wide and of medium strength to highlight the immediate terrain ahead.
When looking into the distance, lumens will increase stretching out further in to the night.

Many standard electric lights will drain down over time due to the fact that their connectors remain engaged with the battery and you may not realise this until it is too late. With a simple twist BatteryLock™ technology allows you to disengage the batteries from their connectors.

1. Batteries do not drain down without the light being on.
2. Protects the device from acid leak erosion.
3. Ensures the device is off in transit.

DuraGuard™ is an additional layer of tough moulding that helps prevent the device from damage. The exterior shielding helps reduce damage from impact and weather making the device extra durable.

Not recommended

Had to take back after a few months as it stopped working. Had to tape up the silly wave sensors as they drove me mad. Not good

Great all-rounder

I bought this headlight mainly for night time dog walks and being able to have 2 hands free at all times! Me or my husband use this every night and once we worked out how to stop the modes from changing we love it! it's sooo bright and really comfortable. The batterylock feature is great although we tend to forget to put it on when it goes back in the kitchen draw and one charge seems to last ages. Would definitely recommend this light,

Great Headtorch

Was initially frustrated with the proximity detector in a similar fashion to the other reviewers. The light kept changing whilst I was crawling around under floorboards.. Having revisited th instructions I found that if you press the on button for 4 seconds it goes into a mode that only switches between close and far away white light which is great! And it stays in that mode until you switch it off. Holds charge well and so far has beem robust. The only slight negative is that the lock to keep it from switching on is the wrong way around. It should be pull out to switch on. Push in to lock. Just a possibility that if it pushed together in your bag it might switch on. But so far that has not happened. Hope this has been helpful : )

read instructions first please !

If you read the manual you would see that pressing the on/off button for 4 seconds turns off the auto sensor that changes brightness and bulbs but I totally agree that in practice auto sensing does not work in a domestic / garden setting. I also agree the lock mechanism is poor but better than nothing and the plastic bit went ping on day 1 but ability to lock is useful though counterintuitive.
Lastly the head strap is very cheap and basic. It needs a strap over the top of the head/helmet to be really practical. I expect more for the price frankly and will return to Blackdiamond/ Petzl next time.
Too early to say how long the recharge lasts and longevity. If it no longer charges after a few years then it will have been an expensive mistake.
Rechargeable is great in domestic / work setting when access to charge it before use is realistic but out on the hill I would use a better brand like Petzl/ Blackdiamond

Over engineering at its best

I bought this headlamp because I was after something I could keep on charge in my van so I could be confident I wouldn't run out of juice on my night time photography expeditions. First of all I can say that it definitely does the job. Very bright in all settings and comfortable. The only real problem, and it's quite a big one, is that the hand gesture feature is completely useless! Every time something came close to my face the light intensity changed! They are trying to sell it like it's the next best thing in head lamp tech but it just doesn't work! My simple fix was to cover the sensor with a small piece of gaffer tape and problem solved. Change the light setting by pressing the button like every other lamp. They need to make the hand gesture a selectable feature if they want this to work for everyone.

Not Fit for Purpose

I needed a good head light for outdoor and indoor use. But the automatic change of mode activates when near any object including clothing, even opening the door to the garden shed causes it to change mode. It changes when you move your head so it could cause a serious accident as the light suddenly changes then you cannot see. The headlamp elastic did not come with an overhead strap so unless you are wearing a woolly hat it falls down over your eyes. This product is not fit for purpose and I will be returning it to the shop.

I can't believe the other review! This head torch is excellent! The lock function works well (the bit of plastic mentioned is a bit of packing in the box and not for use with device! Changing the mode by waving works perfectly and never changes by itself (obviously if you have items flapping in front of it then it will change but then you can make sure you don't have anything flapping! ).
There is absolutely no shake in the beam so I suggest the other reviewer take there faulty one back.

Coleman CXS + 300

Well I have used this a couple of times and not as good as I expected. The lighting id good however when you are using it there are several issues. Firstly the light is sensitive and when pointing at the floor seems shaky as if it is picking very slight head movement and is very distracting. Also if you have it on the swipe to change mode on be cautious that a flapping draw string of your hoody/coat changes it! It may happen if you have Long hair. The draw strings was just wind movement and several times changing it to the red light. Also the device is fitted with a lock device to prevent accidental turn on/engage battery. Absolute waste of time and doesn't do what it should as it is that loose it falls out. I have only used it a couple of times and searched in my bag and on the floor for it. For the price I do not think it is worth it. Lose the battery safety lock(Thin bit of plastic) and then you risk it turning on. Safety wise it worried me as I use on the dead of night and several times it went to red and had to mess about waving my hand to reactive it. I will test it again and if the same issues continue I will return it as not fit for purpose. .
