An extra long version of Rab's lightweight, windproof down jacket, built for any kind of activity in the moderate winter cold.
A longer version of a modern staple, the Rab Microlight Alpine Jacket uses hydrophobic down insulation inside weather-resistant Pertex Quantum fabric, in a streamlined package that gives you very effective warmth with minimal weight.
Roomy, zipped pockets make it practical, and easy packability (the whole jacket goes into the supplied stuff sack) makes it a must for any adventure (you get a comfy pillow!).
The narrow stitch-through baffled construction prevents the down fill from spreading or bunching and gives maximum loft, and the fixed insulated hood (with positionable peak) gives you supreme protection from winter weather.
Clean lines and a slim silhouette mean that the Microlight Alpine works very well as a warm layer under a waterproof shell, for climbing or other alpine pursuits - but you'll also appreciate it if you're lightweight backpacking, or just wearing it day-to-day in cold conditions.
Micro stitch-through baffle construction
Adjustable hood with laminated brim and flexible polymer peak
Diverted hood baffle lines for good anatomical fit
YKK reverse coil front zip with insulated zip baffle and chin guard
When i first came across the x-long Womens microlight alpine I just wanted to know how much longer it actually was and I couldn't find it anywhere, not in the description or in the reviews. So for anyone who is wondering, i'm 5ft 11 and its long enough to cover my bum! So no more cold middle :D The sleeves are also longer too. Tall girls- its well worth it to get the x-long version. My local store only had the black on in stock so I went and tried it before then ordering the teal coloured jacket and i love it. Good size pockets, hood has a wire/bendy peak and it comes with a fab stuff sack too. Adjustable elastic cords around the bottom hem and the hood. Really pleased with my purchase. Has kept me lovely and warm in the recent 1'c weather too.

X-long women’s Rab alpine lite
Amazing product, perfect as I’ve been looking for a warm Comfortable lite jacket for a while. Wired hood helps protect face/hair from strong weather conditions. Would recommend!

Versatile quality jacket
(Review for older model of this product - Rab Men's Microlight Alpine Long Jacket)
Warm, light, compact, reasonably weatherproof and great quality.
Zips and general quality is superb, my only quibble is that the chest pocket is a little on the small size.
Extra length means it doesn’t ride up and sleeves a good length for scrambling etc. Even though its longer, it still a touch shorter than my Mountain Equipment shell. Found the fitting a bit on the snug side and so went for a Large, even though would normally have gone for a medium (e.g. my Montane Softshell) – suggest that you try before you buy.

6ft and over then go long
(Review for older model of this product - Rab Men's Microlight Alpine Long Jacket)
Before i review the jacket i would like to mention that i ordered the jacket late afternoon 24/11/17 and it arrived at 1.45pm the next day and that was free post (outstanding).
I already own a couple of cheaper down products and the difference between them and the rab microlight is quality this jacket feels and looks far better. The pockets are a good size and the chest pocket is larger than you would think when you look at the jacket. The jacket would be better if it could be stuffed into it's own pocket but the handy little stuff sack it comes with is small and looks cool. The chin guard has a soft fleece feel and like the zip baffle is great for keeping the wind out.
The hood is a good fit and isn't to big or small.
I am a slim 6ft tall 6.1 at a stretch bloke and that is why i chose to buy the alpine long as the regular looks far two short and tight fitting and the medium fits me perfect with still enough room underneath for my thick fleece. Go Outdoors is the only store i have found that has the rab microlight alpine long jacket. Now the jacket gets put away for christmas, made sense to grab a black friday bargain. I can't wait till christmas
