Rab Microlight Alpine Men's Down Jacket

I received this down jacket as a gift, slightly less than two years ago. Half a year ago the jacket started losing more and more down, especially at the waist area.

There's no way I can wear it at work or to go out with friends, as I end up looking like a chicken, and there's no trust regarding its performance in the mountains, which was the main reason I bought it for. In a few months this jacket will have no down left inside.

I did a research online and saw that many people had the same problem - lots of down sticking on their clothes.

I contacted RAB and they told me that it might needs to be washed. I sent it to them and paid the high premium. When I received it, feathers kept on sticking on my clothes. I contacted RAB again and said they would only accept it for repair with the receipt. It was a gift from my ex partner... and there's no way I can find a receipt. I don't know if they're afraid there are fake versions of their down jackets, but that's an awful customer service by RAB and awful quality for such an expensive item.

I had a similar quality problem with a North Face jacket two years after I purchased it. TNF took it back and reimbursed me in a few days!

That was excellent service from their side, but RAB...? No way I would buy something from them and waste time with such "cheap" customer care procedures.

Very pleased with this purchase and the customer service in the store was excellent as usual.
The jacket is a great for most occasions from hill walking to general use, especially used with other layers.

Highly recommended. Lightweight and warm, I wore it in temperatures of -2/-3 last week with only a Helly Hansen base layer beneath and was toasty.

I'd been contemplating one of these jackets for a while instead of more traditional multiple layers to keep warm. It's a great jacket, unbelievably lightweight but so warm. The second you put the hood on you feel your temperature raise. Great that it has it's own stuff sac and packs down really small to hardly take up any room in your rucksack. Great choice of colours too - well worth the price.

This is our 6th Rab jacket. My husband and I have three a piece. Varying styles and colours because we love them so much. Styling is great. Quality is excellent. Aftercare is considerate. Go outdoors is our place of choice with a discount card and price promise.

Warmth is assured, whilst weight and pack size are minimal. Shopping to serious walking can be accomplished easily. We wonder how we survived before and whether we will be wearing these in another 30 years still...

This is my first rab coat I have owned, and although they are more money than their competitors, I have to say they are worth every penny. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. So warm and lightweight. Since buying this jacket, two other people I know have bought one. ??

great insulated jacket, worth the investment to keep you warm and cozy weather your up a mountain or just out for a stroll, wish I picked one up sooner.

This is the best jacket I have ever had, it's so comfortable to wear and warm as well.

Lightweight, warm, excellent buy

This is a very lightweight jacket but is still warm and it keeps the wind out. I have not worn it in really freezing weather yet but look forward to it. It is also pleasing that light rain beads on the pertex outer layer of the jacket instead of soaking in but suspect it would soak in with persistent or heavy rain although it is not claimed to be waterproof.
It also has the benefit of having its own stuff sack which is ideal if it is being carried in a rucksack overall I am very pleased with this purchase

Great for golf in cold conditions.
I wanted a jacket which I could wear playing golf. This jacket is light but warm. It beats all the top golf brands, (Galvin Green included) for performance and warmth.
And it slips in my golf bag just like any other golf jacket.

Bought to wear to keep warm between American Flag Football games. Gets cold between games, and needed a thin jacket that I can put waterproof on top of. This is ideal and warmer than I hoped. Good value and has washed well.
