Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.
Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.
Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.
Second pair of Hi-Gear boots but massive drop in quality.
There's so little grip they're actually dangerous to walk in, even in summer conditions. They let water in much easier the previous HiGear boots and the lace hooks eat shoe laces for fun! Never again!

This is the second pair of these I have bought. The first lasted years untill the side seam split. The second pair was rubbish the heel wore through in less than a year. Not the same quality.

I've had these nearly 12 months they took a bit of breaking in but now are comfortable waterproof in long wet grass and have great grip on wet & icey surfaces .
I walk my dog in them every day.

Great First Walking Boot
Only had the boots for three weeks but I’ve been walking in all kinds of weather from heat-waves to downpours, across tracks, gravel, grass, roads, muddy paths and much more.
The boots have kept my feet dry through mud, long wet grass and tracks that were pouring with water; they are amazingly comfortable being padded inside.
They’ve been a great “first boot”.

Hi Gear Mens Snowdon Boots
Worst pair of boots I have ever bought, had them 6 months or more but still do not want to wear them, perhaps worn 15 times but have renewed the laces 3 times. The lace hooks are savage as will not tighten the lace up and the upper boot wall rubs your legs sore, bad purchase.

Hi Gear Snowden mens walking boots.
Originally got the Hi Gear Derwent boots but had them replaced with no fuss after 24 hours as they were pinching, excellent work Poole store. Swapped them next day for the Hi Gear Snowden leather waterproof boots and so comfy out of the box and loosened up a treat after a 6 mile dog walk. Haven't tested the waterproofing yet but for the price an absolute bargain, highly recommended and a good store at Poole to boot, pun intended.

Stitching came away to reveal a big gap in these boots within 3 months with minimal use. I wouldn’t recommend buying these boots.

Dangerous walking shoe
Do not buy had plenty on warning as to how poor these shoes are in mud and still carried on wearing them. Now in hospital with a crippling injury due to terrible grip in a loose surface. They should be removed from sale they are a disgrace.

Version 2 - downgrade?
The second version has some better stitches. After a few hours in wet terrain (Lake District) they get wet inside and the sole is super slippery on wet stones.
Some guys in street shoes had more grip.
I hope the sole is getting more rough and maybe some impregnation will make them 'waterproof'.
