The top, didn't seem to fit very well and kept sliding down the front of the rucksack. Stitching came away to one of the clip covers on the top and a retainer for a strap. Spacious, good front access.
I am 5'2" and find it near impossible to get a rucksack to fit me, this rucksack fits me really well. I haven't used this yet but it is packed ready to go and all my gear fits in it.
It has sufficient space and a 2 compartment body which can be opened to one full compartment. It is made of a ripstop material which does concern me and only time will tell if it can survive a rugged outing. I would not consider this a bomb proof rucksack, I do believe it would probably suffer if subjected to a rough environment. This probably would not have been my first choice but the two main conditions it did meet were fit and budget, I had a limited budget and a requirement which this pack fullfilled.
The stitching looks very solid and the internal and external straps are generous in length and well made. In conclusion it appears to be a good rucksack for the money but undoubtedly there are far better rucksacks available but at a price and in my case a comfortable fit.
I like the design of the backpack, but the quality is really poor: one of the seams ripped apart when we opened the backpack to pack it for the first time, even before we were able to put any pressure. Apparently it has not ben sewn properly. After closer examination of the seams we discovered that it is very unlikely that this will be the last one to do so, as the seams are right at the edge of the material - there is virtually none to spare.
The rain cover seam seems to be also very poorly made.
I would actually take it back for a refund if not for that but it's too late, and the new (unhappy) owner is leaving on the early plane tomorrow (the backpack was bought to replace luggage lost by the airline).
I haven't been expecting too much from a cheap backpack, but my own was even cheaper and survived quite a battering over a couple of years before the first seam gave off.
I really find it comfy and versatile but the right arm strap ripped the very first time I picked the thing up!! I had tightened the nylon strap which I assume should bear the weight but when I picked up up (rather carefully) is tore the strap, which is pretty rubbish for the very first time I used it and it only had a tent, my sleeping bag some clothes and a pair of shoes in it...
This bag tries to be too much. Too many straps, bits and bobs. Very uncomfortable. Sits very low on hips which restricts movement. Top pocket doesn't sit naturally. one of worst rucksacks I own (I have about 7) okay for emergency camping or second bag but don't buy. Experience is as mountain leader and 20+ years in military.
Iused on around a dozen hikes and wild camps. For the latter it accommodates a full pack including tent, mat, bag, stove etc plus water bladder with no problems at all. Excellent kit if looked after.
