Reviewed by Zeeblum - 4th Feb, 2019 Circulation stoppers Two years ago I bought my first pair of Lorpen socks, midwaight t3 trekkers. They were clearly a cut above the rest. Warm, comfortable around the ankle and incredibly wicking. I went back to go outdoors and bought another 5 pairs, quite the investment at almost £20 a pair. A year later, go outdoors had no stock of Lorpen socks, I was gutted. A staff member explained Lorpen had taken a break but would hopefully be back on their shelves at some point. A year later they returned, but completely reinvented. No longer were the socks unique and stand alone, with the wicking power of a desert. They appeared to me to have morphed into ankle biting, circulation stopping, sweat inducing foot stinkers and I’ve not invested another penny in them since. What happened to the brand?? Is it possible that they sold us out at the peak of their game and have let another company ride on their name whilst reducing the expertise of the sock?? Who knows, but it’s yet another quality brand that had no reason to change that changed anyway and became normal abandoning excellence. Shame as I’d have bought many more socks from them!!
