Skin came out in a rash!

these have a rubber type rim at the top of the sock to stop them slipping. This or maybe even the sock itself rubbed against my leg whilst on a fourteen mile walk and I arrived home with a seriously painful rash. I also have blisters on the balls of both my feet. Yes they are waterproof, I discovered this on my first walk in the snow. But due to the bad reaction I will never wear them again.. £34 wasted!...

Dry and warm but very poor fit

I use them for mountain biking and they have kept me dry so far, although I haven't tested them in really wet conditions yet. My main issue is with the quality of the fit, it could be a lot better. The angle between the foot and the leg is about 135 degrees rather than 90 degrees, which isn't normally a problem with ordinary socks, but with them being multi-layered and having the Gore Tex membrane, the material creases up at the front and digs into my ankle, this causes mild discomfort under my mid-top MTb shoes but could dause severe chafing under a pair of sturdy hiking boots. They would be fine if they were made at a 90 degree angle, it's beyond me why they have been made this way.

Disappointed....

All in all a really good walking sock. No problem with the elasticated top rubbing my calf and zero blisters. However.....

Have worn approx 12 times since Jan 18 in anticipation of wet terrain and weather. First 11 times generally dry ! but last walk (approx 15 miles) was in light rain and slightly mudly with occasional long grass and my feet were soaking.

I anticipated that my £160 salomon walking boots (3 years old) were not as waterproof as they claimed ! but felt confident my sealskins would protect me (which is why I invested in such an expensive pair of socks)

At the end of the walk my feet looked like they had been soaking in the bath for the last 5 hours.

Not waterproof.
Disappointed.
Mike.

Gutted I only just found out about these sock.

Happy happy happy.

Short days stroll, total of 21k through lush uk countryside. No issues at all. Kept my dry through the boggy areas and warm.

100% would recommend to add this into anyone’s standard issue kit bag.

What the packaging doesn't tell you

Both my husband and I purchased a pair of these socks for our work which involves being outside in all conditions. After the first wear, returning home at the end of a 15 hour day, I had signficant blisters under the hydrostop band, which had my skin attached. Some 20 hours later I have one large blister that is probably going to need medical attention and 6 others at varying stages of healing. I am disappointed that the packing does not allude to the fact (highlighted on the Sealskinz Website) that socks with the Hydrostop band should only be worn outdoors and not for prolonged periods.

Sealskinz

Brilliant keeps my feet dry even in Wellington boots, dry feet means warm, read one review said to shave legs., no wear a pair of socks under your sealskins, worth every penny and some.

Sealskin socks

A good product. Shave your legs though because the rubber in the top of the sock pulled at my leg hair leaving the trip uncomfortable. Really thought this brand was gonna be the bees knees but only been in one trip and got blisters
